Good afternoon, my dearest #Hive readers! Happy Monday to everyone—I hope you’re having a fantastic start to your week. It’s your friend Manuel here, and I’m very excited to share a new digital illustration I’ve been working on over this past weekend. On this occasion, I wanted to dive into the theme of elves, so I came up with the idea of creating this beautiful castle elf princess! She is a creature with a sweet, tender, and delicate appearance, featuring small pointed horns emerging from her reddish-tinted hair, as well as striking deep violet eyes that captivate anyone who catches her gaze, even if only for a few seconds. I hope you really like this new fantasy concept, and here is a breakdown of my creation process!:
Muy buenas tardes mis queridísimos lectores y lectoras de #Hive, feliz lunes para todos, espero que estén teniendo un excelente inicio de semana. Por aquí los saluda su amigo Manuel, muy emocionado de compartirles una nueva ilustración digital en la que estuve trabajando durante este fin de semana que pasó. En esta oportunidad, quise irme hacia la temática de las elfas: se me ocurrió crear a esta hermosa elfa princesa de castillo, una criatura con una apariencia tierna y delicada, con pequeños cuernos puntiagudos que salen de entre su cabello, así como unos ojos de color violeta intenso que atrapan a cualquiera que los vea así sea por unos segundos. ¡Espero que les guste mucho esta nueva idea de fantasía y aquí les compartiré un poco de su proceso de creación para que lo aprecien mejor!:
PROCESS / PROCESO
For the concept and character design, I chose an elegant, delicate pose showing the princess with her hands raised close to her face in a thoughtful, gentle gesture. I drew her featuring warm reddish-pink hair tied back in a high ponytail with loose front bangs, small pale pointed horns emerging from her hair, long elven ears with dangling earrings, captivating violet eyes, and an elegant long-sleeved royal blue dress.
Para el concepto y diseño del personaje, elegí una pose delicada y elegante mostrando a la princesa con las manos cerca de su rostro en un gesto delicado y reflexivo. La dibujé luciendo un cabello rojizo cobrizo recogido en una coleta alta con mechones sueltos al frente, pequeños cuernos pálidos y puntiagudos que sobresalen de su melena, orejas élficas alargadas con zarcillos colgantes, cautivadores ojos violeta y un elegante vestido real azul intenso de manga larga.
For the details and rendering, I worked carefully on smoothing her warm skin gradients, body contours, and the soft folds of her blue gown using soft airbrush techniques. I detailed the vibrant purple radiance inside her eyes, rendered the glossy sheen on her hair and earrings, and polished the smooth, bone-like texture of her horns to give her a royal, enchanting volume.
Para los detalles y el renderizado, trabajé cuidadosamente en suavizar los degradados cálidos de su piel, los contornos de su figura y los pliegues suaves de su vestido azul mediante la técnica de aerógrafo. Detallé el resplandor violeta brillante dentro de sus ojos, rendericé los reflejos de luz sobre su cabello y zarcillos, y pulí la textura suave de sus pequeños cuernos para otorgarle un volumen real y encantador.
For the magical elements, lighting, and environment, I set the scene inside a dimly lit castle hallway at night, with dramatic blue ambient light breaking through from behind in the background. A warm key light source coming from the side illuminates her face, chest, and arms, creating a beautiful lighting contrast between the warm skin tones and the cool blue background.
Para los elementos mágicos, la iluminación y la ambientación, ubiqué la escena dentro de un salón de castillo a media luz durante la noche, con un fondo azul dramático iluminando desde atrás. Una cálida fuente de luz lateral ilumina su rostro, pecho y brazos, logrando un contraste de color hermoso entre los tonos cálidos de su piel y la luz azul fría del fondo.
