Good afternoon, my dearest #Hive readers! Happy Saturday to everyone—I hope you’re having a fantastic weekend. It’s your friend Manuel here, and I’m very excited to share a new digital illustration I’ve been working on for the past couple of days. This time, I decided to create an adaptation inspired by one of the flying-type creatures from the universe of my dear friends in the #Holozing community: Chirpily in its HoloMax version! As a Flying/Light type creature, Chirpily HoloMax stands out for its impressive wingspan and bright plumage that projects flashes of light. For this piece, I focused on crafting a humanized warrior adaptation to give it an empowered, battle-ready stance. I hope you really enjoy this creative concept, and here is a breakdown of my creation process!
Muy buenas tardes mis queridísimos lectores y lectoras de #Hive, feliz sábado para todos, espero que estén teniendo un excelente fin de semana. Por aquí los saluda su amigo Manuel, muy emocionado de compartirles una nueva ilustración digital en la que estuve trabajando durante el último par de días. En esta ocasión, decidí hacer una adaptación inspirada en una de las criaturas de tipo volador del juego de mis queridos amigos de la comunidad de #Holozing: ¡la criatura Chirpily en su versión HoloMax! Al ser una criatura de tipo Volador/Luz, destaca por sus alas extendidas de gran envergadura y su plumaje brillante. En esta oportunidad, me enfoqué en realizar una adaptación al estilo humanizado con un toque de guerrera para darle una presencia fuerte y lista para la batalla. ¡Espero que les guste mucho la idea y aquí les comparto un poco del proceso!
PROCESS / PROCESO
For the concept and character design, I reimagined Chirpily HoloMax as a fierce warrior standing triumphantly atop a high mountain peak above the clouds. I drew her featuring bright green hair in short pigtails, striking winged eyes, a light cream combat top, and a vibrant green skirt. Extending gracefully from her back are massive green feathered wings, while gold arm guards and greaves reinforce her warrior identity.
Para el concepto y diseño del personaje, reimaginé a Chirpily HoloMax como una fiera guerrera de pie sobre la cima de una alta montaña por encima de las nubes. La dibujé con un llamativo cabello verde peinado en coletas cortas, una mirada decidida, un top de combate en tono crema y una falda verde brillante. Desde su espalda se despliegan sus enormes alas de plumas verdes, mientras que brazaletes y espinilleras doradas refuerzan su porte de guerrera.
For the details and rendering, I worked carefully on smoothing the skin tones and defining muscle structure using soft airbrush techniques to give her a powerful appearance. I focused on rendering the layered feathers of her wide wingspan, polishing the metallic shine of her golden armor pieces, and adding loose green feathers floating around her to capture the movement of strong winds.
Para los detalles y el renderizado, trabajé cuidadosamente en suavizar las sombras de la piel y definir la estructura muscular mediante difuminados con aerógrafo para darle un aspecto imponente. Me enfoqué en renderizar capa por capa las plumas de sus grandes alas, pulir el brillo metálico de sus piezas de armadura dorada y añadir plumas verdes flotando a su alrededor para capturar la sensación de viento fuerte.
For the magical elements, lighting, and environment, I set the scene high in the atmosphere under a bright blue sky filled with soft white clouds. Direct sunlight illuminates the character from above, casting natural highlights across her green wings, hair, and golden armor, contrasting beautifully against the deep sky background.
Para los elementos mágicos, la iluminación y la ambientación, ubiqué la escena en lo alto de la atmósfera bajo un brillante cielo azul repleto de nubes suaves. La luz del sol ilumina a la guerrera desde arriba, generando reflejos sobre sus alas verdes, su cabello y su armadura dorada, logrando un bonito contraste con el azul del firmamento.
