2026: Grateful For The Journey, Hopeful For What’s Ahead.

The year 2026 is slowly coming to an end, and I can't help but be grateful for everything. This topic actually came at the right time because I've been doing a lot of back and forth in m thought about what I've been able to do, achieve and working towards as well. But first off, I'm grateful, I'm grateful for life, I'm grateful for good health, I'm grateful for friends and families, and I'm ad well grateful for the addition in our family. I'm grateful for everything, the fact that there's still so much more to be done shouldn't stop me from being grateful.

One of the biggest things the year gave me was the completion of my NYSC journey. It may sound small, but to me, it is big. It's not easy having to go through all the stress og school and then serve, and at the end of the day also completing the service year. I was posted to a rural area as a teacher, and I'm glad I did the little I could do in that community. Especially for the opportunity I had to be the CDS president, and my group was known to be the best ever, we did various health, awareness and sensitization programs. Looking back now, I can say that I learned a lot during my service year.

Another thing I will love to talk about is how much I have grown, how much I've learned, and how much I've unlearned. I haven't been year for so long but for the little time that I've spent here, I've seen a lot. And I as well come to know and understand that things won't always happen when I want them too, some won't even go the way I wanted it to, and it's okay that's life. I've had quite a lot of alone moments this year, I think the last time overthink this much was some years back when I was ill. I've been thinking a lot and wondering what my next step should be. But somehow, I didn't stop moving, I kept doing the little I could.

And with NYSC behind me, you can tell that I'm now looking at the world from a different angle. I know some of you can relate with all of the thoughts and uncertainties. I don't know if to say I'm at a crossroad, but then it is what it is... There's the thought of getting a good job, there's that of learning a skill, there's that of relocating or changing environments and a lot more, and to be honest, I'm working on it all at the moment.

But I would love that the remaining months and days in this year 2026 give me more reasons to be grateful, make me happy, and as well make lines fall in pleasant places for me. So, as we near the end of the year, I remain grateful and at the same time optimistic and hopeful that the rest of the year will be the best.

We really need to always be grateful despite we have not achieved all we that desire. But with hope, we continue to work gradually to the end.

Life and health conquers all things.

    Stay blessed Dave 😇

Once you're done with nysc, the pressure level increases. You just want to make life by all means and most of the time, life sits down and be smiling at someone from a corner
