I Came to Hive, but I Found a Home

Huhm, this is deep and it calls for all honesty. Before hive, to me, the internet was just a place to scroll, read about things, drop your comments, chat, and all. I didn't see it (the internet) as a place where my words could be meaningful or where I could get to build something worthwhile... With time.

But then, when I came by hive, things began to change. I joined hive at a not-so-good time of my life, which was in November 2021, almost five years ago now. And I call it not the best time of my life because it was a time when I was going through a lot in life, and I was almost letting go of everything, including the internet. Nothing interests me anymore. I joined back then and was active for a while, and then I became inactive again. I think I was inactive for over two years or so. But when I eventually came back, I began to see hive differently. Hive stopped being just another social media platform to me; it became home, a place where I could be myself.

And talking about changes, one is about how I create. I've always been a writer; I love writing so much, which contributes to the reason why I later came back. Back then, I just wrote about different things in my book, or on my notepad, and that was all. But today, anytime I write, I feel this could help someone, this could make a great post, and all of that. That is why you see that I don't just write for prompts on communities; I also write about random things. Aside from that too, I write about my experiences, about things I've seen and learned, and about the movies I've watched too. Hive gave me a reason to put them into words and post/publish them.

Also, hive has changed how I connect with people. On hive, I've met with people I may never meet, but their words, their posts, their comments, and all haven't just helped me but also guided me and made me see and understand things better. And there's this great feeling you get when you see people supporting you, engaging you and all, not because they know you personally but because you shared something that resonated with them.

I have so many things to talk about, but lastly, I would like to say that another thing that changed is the time I spend online. Yeah, I still spend a lot of time online, but not like before where I'm just scrolling and all. Now I spend more time reading, writing, commenting, engaging, learning, and improving myself and my writing while still discovering a lot of things.

And here I am today, creating, connecting, and leaving a piece of myself behind, just like I did again in this writeup.
