I Chose Not To Give Up On Myself.

I've made quite a lot of decisions in my life, and one that I feel is the biggest and has helped me most is deciding to not give up on myself, no matter what. Don't give up on yourself. I made that particular decision at a time when life was really dealing with me; it's a word I've always said to myself, but then, I didn't mean it that much then, maybe because everything was still going on well, not until life came for me, and I can see that it now depends on me whether to let go or if to try to fight it.

Though the issue then was health-related, and it stopped me from doing a lot of things, even I had to put schooling on a hold and just attend to myself first, this isn't something that lasted for weeks or months; nah, I battled with it for years. And I can't help but think if I would ever survive it, and if I survived it, would I still be able to get my life back together? And to be honest with you, giving up and letting go would have been the easiest thing for me to do then, but I decided against it; I kept pushing. Even when it doesn't look like it, I made that decision.

Today, when I'm faced with any difficulties, I don't just go ahead following my heart; nah, I follow both. Life has taught me that I don't need to have it all figured out before moving. Life has taught me that nothing good will come out if you stay or remain in your comfort zone; you need to take a step. So, I go ahead and do whatever it is while understanding the consequences of my choice too.

So, listening to both has helped me a lot. Also, the decision to never give up is one I'm grateful for till now. Not as if my life has changed completely and I'm now having everything easy, nah, but then, that decision has helped change how I see life. I now very well understand what it means that there's a season for everything under the sun and that some seasons are only meant to test and stretch you, not to destroy you.
