Today, we're diving into the last episode of the amazing movie, "She Must Be Obeyed." Remember, we talked in the past episodes about how SHE (Siyanbola) was bitter because she lost the artist of the year award to Tito, then she began to troll her online with various accounts that she was the one in charge of, and how she also leaked a video of her that she was a mastermind of, and then gifted a car to Bayo, which she finally sold, while still owing her staff. And then, how that her secret has began to come to the open as well, first that she's not the one behind the various songs she's released and so much more.
Well, in this last episode, her public image has begun to shatter. Adaeze, who was behind all of her music too, was already doing everything she could to get out of her bandage. Of course, with the help of Bayo and Victoria. In the long run, instead of admitting defeat and standing up to say the truth, she (Siyanbola) becomes extremely desperate, frustrated and furious as everything she's spent years to build began is now on the verge of collapsing, just the way she collapsed on the stage the last time. Well, the consequences of her actions caught up with her, and she's left with no other options but to confront it. It is expected, you know, since she built all of it via lies, deception, and manipulation.
This finale is a good one, even though we're still of the belief that this is not the end of the movie, yeah. Hoping for a season two. And what I love most about this last episode is how that power has changed hands. In the last episodes she appears to be the big one, giving orders, doing as she likes, threatening people, and treating others as if they don't matter, but in this episode seeing how everyone has left her and is now working against her gladdens my heart. She no longer had anything or anyone under control.
I also love the idea of seeing so many people coming out to expose her, that have it a bit of authenticity, it wasn't just Adaeze even though Adaeze's own is the biggest. And I love how Adaeze too stood up to fight and speak up against SHE.
Well, the movie didn't hit so much at the end as I would have loved it to, considering all that has happened in the past. Nah, the movie shouldn't end just like that. Some of those scenes as well felt too rushed for my liking; they could have given it a bit of space, time, and all. And like I said earlier, considering all the wickedness and all that Siyanbola (SHE) had done, them that ending isn't for her. She really needs to feel it all; she needs to feel what she did to Tito, to Bayo, to Adaeze, to Etim, to Ruka, to everyone.... Even to her fans. That was why I said earlier that this is the last episode, but we hope that another is coming up.
A very impressive, interesting, and beautiful work from Funke Akindele. She must be obeyed. Make sure to give it a watch; it is worth your time.
