The importance of honesty in any relationship cannot be overemphasized. Honesty is more or like saying you want to build s house without a foundation, you very well know that the house will not stand and if it does it won't stand for long as it can't bear or take whatever the universe throws at it. Be it wind, rain, or the likes.
That is exactly what honesty is too; honesty is the foundation of any relationship. Any form of relationship that lacks it is bound to fail. As humans, and in all of our dealing with either family, partner, business, work and all we need to be able to trust each other and tell each other the truth even when it is not that comfortable/convenient.
You know, there's actually something comforting in being honest. You won't be scared to be caught since you know what you said is the truth; you won't be scared of the other person finding out that you lied. Not only that, but you won't need to start hiding or covering anything up. Likewise, you even get to walk snd stand tall anywhere anytime instead of trying to dodge or or avoid questions and all of that.
But when we fail to do that, when we fail to be honest with one another, then we are signing up for something that may or will later get out of hand. And there's something about a lie or being dishonest; once you start, the only thing you can continue to keep it covered and going is a lie. And that is how trust begins to disappear, because once you start or ever decide to input the truth in whatever matter it is, then be sure that the other person will question you and take you back in time to when you actually lied and said a different thing.
Also, while I agree that we need to be honest always, there's also the way to be honest. Yeah, there's something we call "manner of approach." There are different things we can talk and be honest about but the way we talk to each other also matters. You don't need to sound so judging or something all because you want to be honest. I hope you get it. We can be truthful and honest and, at the same time, be kind with our usage of words.
Relationships can survive anything as long as you have each other's back, but once you start being hideous and dishonest with one another, it becomes hard.
