Hey everyone!
I thought I would share some short tips on planting for the Philippine weather. Just another way to save, as things are getting expensive.
From this... you get lots of ripe fruits growing. Best for those who get really into caring for their plants just like my mother in law.
First is eggplant. Pick a small variety and you will have lots of fruit to pick off. This one has been growing pretty much every time we have put them in.
Next is okra. This plant keeps producing loads of new pod.
This is the main thing my mother-in-law plant. She also has a Papaya tree that is producing some fruit. The unripe ones are excellent to add into a chicken tinola. And when they’ve ripened, they’re sweet fruits. 🤤
This plant in my opinion takes a bit longer. When they start to produce though we do get such good amounts of fruit. We really get fortunate as we have a small patch of land to grow some even better. Then there is the pechay.
This plant has grown in size. These were such small starters back then.
They also tend to grow quickly! You can even have a crop to harvest within 30 days. I always recommend this plant as it can be planted into smaller areas / re-purposed planters.
We do get a bit on food saving as we have all these fresh plants with no harsh chemicals. They do take a bit of extra effort but it’s very worth it! You never know when you will get short on money, therefore having something you can harvest at home is the best idea.
Just a few suggestions here but there are heaps of different veggies / fruits you can plant depending on what you like. I hope you have gotten some tips out of this small little share. 🥰
Thanks for reading my little story! 💖

STOPYour mother-in-law has a great garden. Ang sarap tingnan ng mga tanim, especially the papaya and pechay. I agree that home gardening is worth the effort because it helps save money and provides fresh, healthy food for the family. Yay!
Eggplants and okra grow and produce fruits so quickly, and they don’t even require much maintenance!
