Ever since Ryzen started going to daycare, we have been receiving lots of snacks from the government feeding program. My kids love snacks! They can eat biscuits, cookies and cakes one after another. Sometimes as a mom, it can be hard to keep up with their appetite. Especially since they are always ready to eat something.
That's why I'm glad we have this feeding program. Every other week we receive five pieces each of two different kinds of snacks.
The best thing is that the snacks are not only delicious, but made with natural ingredients and are intended to give better nutrition to the children. My kids eat everything they get. And even we adults like them! 😆 One of my favorite is the instant dry cereal blend.
It's so easy to prepare since all you have to do is add hot water and it's like porridge. I usually add milk and some sugar to make it creamier and sweet.
As a mom, it makes me happy to know that my children have something nutritious to eat. Of course I make sure to give them different kinds of food, but having these healthy snacks is a great help. Having them eat their snacks with some nutrition is a great relief for me.
Aside from the snacks from the feeding program, we are also grateful that my mother-in-law often shares food with us. Yesterday at lunchtime, we planned to buy some pork that we'd cook for our meal. But before that, my mother-in-law told us that they would provide our viand instead.
And guess what? It was also a pork dish! 😆 For viand, my hubby decided to cook some anchovies. We didn't really expect much from the two dishes, but the flavors matched each other really well! We really enjoyed our lunch. 🤤 By the time evening came, my hubby bought our viand since we didn't have enough time to cook. He bought a dish thinking that it was pork meat.
But when we ate we found out that it was pork and chicken adobo... Hahaha
Well, we were already so done with chicken, but what else could we do? We couldn't return it since we already bought it, so we ate it. That's life! 😂 At least we had food for dinner and that's something to be thankful for.
Another thing my hubby loves to buy is penoy. It's cheap, filling and perfect for a quick snack.
But what makes it extra special for me is the cucumber vinegar that comes with it
I really love that vinegar! All you have to do is pour a little on the egg and eat it together, almost like having a special sauce! The sour and refreshing taste makes the penoy more enjoyable. 🤤
It may be simple, but the flavor will just burst in your mouth 😋
You can eat penoy as a snack just like the ones sold at night markets, or with rice if you prefer to. Either way, it's a yummy and filling treat.
And that's pretty much everything about the food we enjoyed yesterday...
I'm so glad to be able to share these little things with you since food is something we can all enjoy.
Everything we enjoyed yesterday

It’s good to know that there’s a government feeding program and that they’re providing healthy food. I remember when I was in elementary school, we also had a feeding program where we were served bulgur cooked in coconut milk. It was sooo yummy!
Wow. The food are very delicious. This reminds me of some midnight snack we enjoyed.
Fantastic job on today's Ecency leaderboard quest, @mayt!

Sorry, I don’t quite understand—how did your husband end up getting the wrong thing while shopping? Didn’t he ask about it before making the purchase?
