Today I want to invite you to visit my mother‑in‑law's private yard garden. In my previous post, we've seen her public garden and now it's time to check out this lovely hidden garden... If you haven't visited my previous post yet, you can go and check it out too.
Yardlong Beans Growing in the Hidden Garden
As we started to tour around, the first thing I've noticed was the yardlong bean plant.
It has already produced small pods... Though, it is still short, I'm excited to see it growing long everyday.
Ampalaya Plant and Its Beautiful Yellow Flowers
The next thing to catch my eye was the ampalaya plant...
It has started to bear fruits. And to keep away insects and pests, they have wrapped each young ampalaya in plastic wraps. I've also noticed that it has beautiful yellow flower. 😍 I love how soft and gentle it looks yet so cute to see it blooming there hehe. 🥰
Bright Red Chili Peppers Ready for Harvest
Then, I was so excited to see the chili pepper bushes...
Many of its fruits have turned into beautiful bright red color meaning they are already ripe enough to be harvested. I'm so excited to gather some of them to make my homemade spiced vinegar 🤤 soon enough!
I can almost taste its flavor...
Growing Pechay in Recycled Plastic Bottles
We've also discovered some pechay plants growing in upcycled plastic bottles along a wire.
My mother‑in‑law said that these pechay plant grows slower than the ones in her public garden since it doesn't get as much sunlight as the other one. It sure does make a big difference you know? For our leafy vegetables.
More Chili Pepper Plants and Their White Flowers
There are also some chili plants nearby... Though their pods are still small for now,
they have beautiful white star‑shaped flower all over them.
It seems that we will have lots of fresh chili fruits to harvest very soon! 😍
