Hive Scam Alert: Beware of Fake Airdrop Links That Can Drain Your Wallet!

‎Good day, fellow Hivers! I hope everyone is doing well and keeping safe. ‎ ‎I want to take a moment to voice an important warning to everyone in our Hive community, particularly those who would do things like click any link offering you an airdrop. ‎ ‎This morning my friend @esciisc told me that her HIVE and HBD were transferred to @bemybaby without her consent. Worried, I paid a visit to her account and noticed that there seem to be several other accounts that might have been affected by this scam. ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎From what we have been able to ascertain, the scam seems to be taking place through comments on Hive Notice inciting you to click a link to get airdropped. The link leads you to what seems to be a legitimate Hive, but is most likely a phishing site meant to steal your login/your signing key, thus enabling them to access your wallets and steal your coins. ‎ ‎ ‎I want it to be known that the identity of said person/persons responsible for this scam have yet to be determined. While it is true that @bemybaby seems to be the one that is benefiting from these suspicious transactions that we have noticed, this is not proof of guilt nor does it mean that he is responsible for the scam. ‎ ‎ ‎I hope that experienced Hivers and people that have knowledge of investigating blockchain transactions will help us discern who is responsible, as well as what measures should be taken to deal with them. ‎ ‎I also noticed that an account such as @grecki-bazar-ewy seems to have been power down, with their HIVE seemingly still being taken away to @bemybaby. I wonder if there is a way to help those affected from further loss of their HIVE. ‎ ‎Is there a way to report this suspicious account, remove the suspicious comments, or ensure that those scam links do not get to more Hive users? I hope that those who have the knowledge and means to help do so will look into this matter as soon as possible. ‎ ‎It is really disheartening to see cases like this occur as, earning HIVE takes time and effort on our parts. We all go to great lengths to earn HIVE by making content, being a part of the community, or making our own wallets. To see our hard-earned rewards go down the drain because of scams is devastating. Huhu. 😢 ‎ ‎I hope our community can come together to ensure this doesn't happen again and that people aren't getting victimized. We all want to enjoy Hive without being afraid of scammers taking our rewards away from us. ‎ ‎Stay safe, fellow Hivers, and remember to not click those scammy airdrop links! 💚

It is so regrettable that people continue trying to commit fraud...

There’s about 300 accounts created by same group of scammers. A couple even started replying to there other accounts scam links, warning it’s a scam to try and build fake credibility or something. Now that some accounts fell for it, we’ll see higher reputation accounts compromised and taken over doing it too unfortunately. I just don’t get why anyone would click a link like that but I guess it works for some.

It’s even more rampant now 24 hours after this post. Only getting worse sadly. Don’t click links people! Even if u know the account! They could be hacked!

Tangnang mga scammer yan! Hanggang dito sa nananahimik na Hive eh sumusulpot sila. Nakakaloka! THINK BEFORE YOU CLICK, Peeps.

Thanks for sharing that Mayt. Ruffa is right, imagine building your account little by little only to get scammed.

When my friend @crstypatata messaged me about how she got scammed, ni-check ko din agad yong account and yes, ang dami talagang victims. And yk, the rep of the person who posted it is so high na mapapaniwala ka and you won't even try to check it coz, I mean, mataas repu nya so, parang ano mo na agad sa self mo na ,it is legit. And yun na nga, na victim din sha. Nakakainis lang coz people are making an effort tapos ying mga animal na yi , nanakawin lang. Nakakainis! Anyways, Nakapag create naba ng new keys si SC? Nakapag change si @crstypatata kaso kapag maga login sya using them, nagkaka error 😑
