Belgrade (Beograd, means "White City") is the capital and largest city of Serbia, II is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in Europe, with human settlement dating back over 7,000 years.
These are some of the many street photos taken on one of the walks my kids took while they were on holiday in Serbia.
This is a street in Zemun, a historic district of Belgrade situated along the Danube River. The cobblestone street is lined with outdoor cafe seating, looking uphill toward the iconic Gardoš Tower (Tower of Sibinjanin Janko)
More photos of Gardoš Tower coming soon
: This arched passage leads to a courtyard located along the Zmaj Jovina pedestrian street. Above the grand archway is a Cyrillic building inscription.
This is the cozy entrance of an antique shop (Antikvarnica) adorned with climbing vines and potted plants. There are, framed vintage items in the window, and a decorative bicycle parked on the stone pavement.
The is Visoka Street (Visoka ulica) in the historic neighborhood of Zemun

This is the historic building framing the northern side of Zemun's open-air market square (Veliki trg). Visible at street level are local neighborhood staples, including Mesara (a butcher shop) and Pekara Petrović which is a well-known local bakery.
This Passageway Entrance (Zmaj Jovina) Is adjacent to Veliki Trg in Zemun. The wooden gate with ornamental wrought-iron grillwork (marked with house number 7) opens into a traditional inner courtyard (kapija). Passageways like this are designed to connect street-front residential or commercial storefronts with courtyards behind.
