It's been a year of so many planned and yet a year of so many unexpected. Like how do you plan so much but still face a lot of unexpected situations? It's been my story since the beginning of this year, from one surprise to another even in the midst of my many plans. Is it a good thing? A big YES, am I still hoping for more surprises? Yes!
There are so many notables in this year that I'd love to share but I'll share the most important ones which came to me more like a surprise and in a good way. First of all, I'd love to say here that I am grateful for how far I've come into the year, especially for the fact that I didn't just live through it but actually live it more intentionally.
At the beginning of the year, I got my first surprises, to be a mentee to someone who would help me discover more about myself both online and offline. And another not so much of a surprise after was gaining certificates on some skills I had been putting time and efforts into. I started to explore a world I didn't know existed.
Months into the year, I started different personal challenges that have been paying off for me more than I imagined before I started them. One of them, I did it here on Hive and it brought out more of my consistency strength. I also got to put myself out there online and it brought people and friends to my space than I had expected.
I also got to read a lot of books than I ever did since my childhood or my university days (studying to pass exams). Not just any kind of books, they were books that opened my eyes to different aspects of life, from communication to storytelling to finance and time management. I still got a lot to cover but I'm ahead of my target.
Another notable moment I got this year is the graduation of my sister and a small promotion for my brother where he schools, I can not even emphasise how proud my two siblings make me feel whenever I think about them. For the fact that they didn't fall sick as much and didn't bring in much complain about life, it is very notable.
One more notables for me of this year is that, I got a commitment that I decided to do, it has opened me up to new environment, new learnings, criticisms that have helped me learn faster and do better on what is expected of me, meet new people and exercise my communication skills. I'll say this is the best part.
I am still looking forward to what the rest of the year will bring to me, especially from this present commitment I'm on. I'm also hoping to meet more new people, learn more from my mentors and grow on a new path I've recently found and started walking on even though it feels unclear. I pray all work out together for my good and for all.
