When I saw this prompt, I remember a small story I heard earlier this week about a little boy I've been interacting with for a short while now. I found out why he was the way he is was because his mother does every single thing for him. He's the eldest child to two other siblings and he's the laziest and absentminded. The mother caused it.
I also remember how some children mature so quickly because their parents make them learn and do things by themselves early enough, some had to learn because of sad conditions of not growing with their mother or father figure in their live from an early age. And so it goes both ways, "Do It Yourself" starts from how one was raised.
And that brings me to a place of gratitude to God and for the experience I've had growing up, especially without my mother at first. It made me learn a lot of things I don't think I could have learned if I had someone doing everything for me. Even now, I am still learning more things, especially from my mother who is around now.
There are like a lot of things I wouldn't need the help of a professional now and ever, because I have come to always do them and I will love to continue doing them even when I have all the resources to get professional help, especially the first one I'll mention. Mind you, there'll be times I'll make use of professional help to save time.
One of them for me is, Meal prepping and cooking. While I'm not sure how well I'll do with massive cooking (for over 20 persons) or like Hilda Baci, what I know is, I can come up with good meals whenever I want and deciding what to eat is easier for me than others make it to seem like. People pay to know what to eat next.
People also pay to prep their meals before time of cooking, I do that like it's nothing. It's actually fun to have everything ready before cooking, makes the cooking more easy, fun and turn out delicious than expected most of the time. I may need assistance when I'm preparing a big portion of food but if it's a family size, I can do it myself.
My body care is also another thing I could get professional help but I love doing it myself, from manicure, pedicure, hair care to understanding what suits my body best in anything I put on my body, both in and out, I have learned to enjoy taking good care of myself without the help of anyone and it is really helping me save more.
Even though I get help here and there, I know there are a lot of things I've learned to do for myself or for people with ease. There are things that I've seen people pay so much for, even though they look simple to do personally. The sweetest part is, I am still finding more things to do myself, they save cost and make me stronger.
