As long as there is at least one...

20260816_200853.jpg

There is a saying among us musicians that as long as there is at least one listener in the audience, a concert is worth playing. That single listener has to be respected; he deserves our performance delivered with the same effort as if a packed hall were listening. We must put in that same level of passion.

I believe this same rule applies to many other things... If you are a writer, as long as you have at least one reader, it is worth putting down your thoughts on paper. Or let's say mentoring: if there is one person, a small child or an adult, who genuinely wants to learn from you, your skill or knowledge is worth transmitting to them. We can continue with many things and professions, or we can even apply that rule to Hive. 😁 If there is at least one user who will participate in the monthly themes in your community, it is worth setting them almost every month.

Last month's topic was a tricky one. Who would have a collection of items connected to the 2026 FIFA World Cup? I was sure that it would be a difficult topic, but I still set that theme. 😆 And you know what? It was worth it, as one user found a way to bring a collection. I am very grateful to @enraizar, who brought us his contribution in his own creative and special way.

Many of the topics we have aren't exactly common, or people simply don't have the items needed to put together a collection and showcase it in a post. It could be that a certain topic is just not interesting, so there aren't many entries. Also, activity in general has dropped off quite a bit lately; we all have other life obligations and various reasons why we can't spend more time in front of the screen or dedicate time to preparing and writing posts, read other users' posts, comment on them, curate... The only person I can point my finger at is myself, as I am far less active too. Even if I found time to post regularly, would I have a collection to bring as my own entry apart from the few cards and my son's T-shirt I showed in my post when the theme was announced?

Nope.

Well... maybe. Maybe it appeared while I was travelling! 😃 Look, one of the signs that there is hope was this page in a magazine of the airline I flew with. You could buy a training ball, a keychain or a textile tote bag to make an official collection.

And then... at the airport, I stumbled upon several other things that could be suitable for the collection. Official T-shirts of the Spanish national football team, soft toys, scarves, etc.

I didn't buy any of these items; I didn't even look at their price labels, as usually these souvenirs are a bit more expensive at the airport than in other places. Also, as I am not a real football fan, I don't know what I would do with them. But I was happy that I took a few photos to bring them as a collection, even though it is already another month. 😂

    Hello beautiful,

Lovely to come back and see you at work again.

Please can you drop the link to the book collection posts.

I can't believe it has been so long here. And it is time to put it up (I think I said this before but then life happened - or people happened)

I missed the World Cup in full again. Devastating. Just no time to clock in and stay tuned.

But your collection is sound <3

Ahahahaha nice, collection items stay in the shop! Window shopping becomes Collection; Creative 🥳 Would've been fun to see you run around in a Spanish football shirt; Perhaps even teaching music in such one 🇪🇸

Good morning, @mipiano! Thank you so much for the mention, and congratulations on completing the collection... I envy how well-preserved Naranjito is; I don't know if you realize he's almost the same age as me.

I completely agree that as long as there is even a single reader or listener, out of respect for that person (and for oneself), one must write with the same care and effort as if addressing a huge audience.

As for me, I’m getting that towel collection ready...

    Sending you a big hug—have a wonderful Tuesday! 😊🤗

Es lo importante de que un espacio siga abierto para alguien, asi no este repleto de personas, en este caso post, siempre hay alguien que tiene algo que mostrar, como en este caso lo mencionas sobre el temas de las colecciones.

I've heard the same saying from a teacher about his classes and students. 😉

Ohhhh, that last one’s adorable!! Look, it’s smiling at you!!! What you say is true, and I apply it to my own communities, if just one person posts, it’s worth it and fills me with joy. I hope we never run out of topics!💗
