November is for umbrellas ☔️

Oh, hello there, random passerby! If you happened to stumble upon this post, a warm welcome to you! It feels a bit strange to start writing a post after so much time, so bear with me if I write some nonsense... I would be happy to bring you some minutes of entertainment, maybe even a shower of ideas of what to post in this community; however, most probably I could just lend you some of my umbrellas that I am about to show in this post. After all, what could this new month, November, deliver to us? Rain?

Well, if the guys from Guns N' Roses were weather forecasters, that would certainly be the case and, honestly, we probably aren't far from the truth. Autumn has arrived, and after such a long, dry summer, it would be cool to have some rain. So, why not dedicate this month in the Hive Collectors community to this quite useful item? ☔️

Umbrellas

Not that these few umbrellas make a huge collection, I know... We do have more, but they didn't make it into this photo. One of our umbrellas lives in the car, to have it always just in case. It is a small black umbrella, similar to the smallest one in this photo. Another one went to live with our son. He really needs it this year. Then some of our umbrellas escaped from us; I mean, we lost them or left them by accident, like the one in Krakow. Also, many have broken over the years...

Some umbrellas have been involved in situations that will remain unforgettable. What if you are out for a walk with a friend in a village you are visiting for the very first time, both holding open umbrellas even though the rain has stopped, and a complete stranger asks to take a photo of you simply because she found that particular moment interesting? Ok, I told her, although my friend wasn't very comfortable with that idea. Anyway, the stranger lady sent me this photo later and it brings me a smile actually.

This Hive umbrella is not with us anymore. That is the one we accidentally left in Krakow, in the same city where this photo was taken one rainy morning. However, we do have another umbrella with the same logo. 😜

I should say this is my most beloved umbrella in this little collection; but if I were to choose the most efficient and adequate umbrella for real rain, I would have to take durability and comfort into account and in that case, it would be this large, dark red umbrella. It has a solid, stable construction and is big enough for two people.

On the other hand, if the criteria for choosing a favourite umbrella from my own collection weren't efficiency and its real purpose of protecting us from rain, then here comes my choice. It is made of paper and wood and would serve just to bring shade from the sun; yet, despite this, it remains my favourite because of its elegance.

So, what about your umbrella collection? Do you have any?

Bonus item in the collection:

It somehow ended up in our bag after the Hive meetup in Alicante... I really have no clue whose umbrella this is, but if you miss your umbrella and you recognise it, now you know where it is! 🤣
