I think one of my biggest struggles is something people hardly notice because I don't talk about it much. It is the constant doubt I have about myself. Honestly I have many ideas but doubt is my real battle.
Sometimes, I have an idea and feel excited about it. I start thinking about how to make it work, the things I could achieve and how far I could go. But after a while, another side of me begins to question everything.m I good enough to do this? What if I fail, What if I put in so much effort and nothing comes out of it?
These questions always make me lose confidence even before I properly get started.
The funny thing is that sometimes I know I can do something, but I still find myself doubting my ability. I may have everything I need to take the first step, yet I spend so much time thinking about whether I will succeed.
I also have dreams I genuinely want to achieve. There are things I want to do with my life, places I want to reach and a better version of myself I hope to become. But sometimes, when I think about how much work it will take to get there, I start wondering if I am capable of making it happen.
Another part of this struggle is overthinking. I can make a decision today and still spend the next few days wondering if I made the right choice. Sometimes, I replay conversations in my head,I always think about things I should have said differently and worry about situations that haven't even happened.
It can be exhausting because even when my body is resting, my mind is busy. I don't always share these thoughts with people. From the outside, I may look like someone who knows what she wants, but there are moments when I am not even sure of my own decisions.
I won't say I have completely overcome this battle because I still experience it. However, I am trying to change how I respond to my doubts. I am learning to take action even when I don't feel completely confident. I am also trying to understand that making a mistake doesn't mean I am incapable.
One thing I am slowly accepting is that I don't need to figure everything out before I begin. I have to start from somewhere. I still have moments when that little voice in my head questions me, but I don't want it to be the reason I keep postponing the things I want to achieve.
My quietest battle is learning to believe in myself, even on days when I struggle to see what I am capable of, and I really need to break out of it.
