Happy Sunday to us all, I hope that you were able to attend today's service in church unlike myself, the rains started at about the time we were about to step out of the house for church. It rained heavily that we were unable to step out for almost 2hrs. Although I have been praying for the rains because of my farms but the rains came and decided to hinder my going to church.
Well I didn't sleep all day, though I got enough rest due to the very good weather. This is how I chose to spend the rest of my evening. Instead of staying idle, I decided to make myself a long time desired pinafore dress. I have seen how ladies rocked this design with a small necktie and have admired it. I have been hoping that someday I will replicate the design for myself to see if it fits me.
Not all dress designs fits all body shapes, hence we have to be mindful of what we wear and alongside we must feel confident of whatever shape God has given to us.
Making process.
To make my pinafore dress I took out this stripped dress of mine that has a choking necklines, it is so uncomfortable to wear around the necklines and I had since abandoned it. These were the outfits I had made a an apprentice, due to lack of experience many of them went wrong and not wearable.
Having ripped out the sleeves and sim lines I separated the front and back bodice.
Then moved on to readjust the shoulder lines, I wanted to add some zipper at the back but there was not enough seamlines to manourver my way around that.
I took the front piece and measured out my inderbust line, connected it to the shoulder of the front block and cut it out here.
Next I took it to the sewing machine to sew the side seams and shoulder lines
I want to tape the edges with bias strip but I am short of black color bias at home right now. I decided to try the pinafore and this is the outcome
