The image you see is the Red Fort, which is one of India's most famous landmarks, but today I don't want to discuss the fort itself.

Today I want to speak more about selling photography.

The picture itself is not the only thing that decides whether your photograph will be purchased.

The first and most important requirement for the photograph to sell easily is removing the digital noise and enhancing its quality in terms of sharpness and clarity.

While your casual photos might win awards in festivals, the microstock photo websites analyze their quality using dozens of technical parameters before approving the submission, including that the image must not contain people's faces and have colors and lighting that match professional standards.

Besides the technical requirements, your photo has to have some unique edge so that when it is put next to similar pictures, taken from the same place, but by other photographers, it wins the competition. That is why such manipulations as color correction, creative color grading, and removing distracting elements in the image significantly improve your chances of making a sale.

In the first image, I asked ChatGPT to remove unwanted elements from the shot and replace the sky with a beautiful one, and I have also attached the unedited version of the photo to compare them side by side.

The rest of the photos are edited in my own software, which does all this quickly, removing noise, sharpening the image, and outputting a perfectly standard image that is ready to be sold.

If you like, you can display lower-resolution previews for browsing while keeping the high-resolution files available for sale.

You will get access to the demo version of the software very soon.

Be sure to follow my posts!

This is such a helpful insight into the microstock world! I like how you explained the difference between a photo that wins awards and one that actually sells. The before-and-after comparison is really impressive.

I have to agree that, editing is one of the most important thing in photography, and every single photographer has own editing process and " feeling " that puts into his/her photos. But what i see the most is overediting, and pictures looks so unreal and strange, similar to AI editing like from ChatGPT above - it is too much. But what considers me the most is the fact, that people, who are not into photography, actually love over edited photos :) And there is one question coming to my mind. Should we process our photos in the best technical, quality way, or in the way that most people will like it, even if We don't agree with them ? In my opinion, the Key is to be somewhere in the middle of both.

I don't understand much about these techniques, I just enjoy looking at the picture itself. Good luck

I agree that technical quality and careful editing can make a big difference when selling photos. As a painter, I'm especially interested in how color correction and lighting can change the mood of an image At the same time I think it's really important to preserve the original features and identity of a photo while enhancing it I'm excited to see a trial version of your software
