A guide to help me find my way./ Monomad Challenge [Eng/Esp]

Most of the time, people approach me on the street when I'm taking photos, whether to ask me questions or just to say something to me. A few days ago, a woman said to me, “Hey, why are you taking pictures if it’s just the same old Havana every day?” That got me thinking, and a thousand answers came to mind for her, but ultimately, far from discouraging me, her comment actually served as inspiration. Now I ask myself that question every day before I head out, and I find answers on every corner.

La mayoría de las veces, la gente se mete conmigo en la calle cuando hago fotos, ya sea para hacerme preguntas o simplemente para decirme algo. Hace unos días, una señora me dijo: «Oye, ¿para qué haces fotos si es la misma Habana de todos los días?». Aquello me dejó pensando y se me ocurrieron mil respuestas para la señora, pero, en definitiva, lejos de desalentarme su comentario, lo que hizo fue servirme de inspiración. Ahora me hago yo esa pregunta todos los días antes de salir y encuentro respuestas en cada esquina.

Have you ever asked yourself that question? Why do you take pictures? For me, that phrase has almost become a motto—or perhaps a guide to keep me from losing my way.
