This is a sensitive topic. How we dress is important but our dressing should not become a reason for someone to take a wrong action. I always believe that appropriate dressing is important. Yes, one has freedom to wear whatever they would like to, but still one must look at their environment and dress accordingly being sensitive about the occassion. I normally never bother about anyone's dressing, but this is an instance that I will like to share.
One of my Son's girlfriend, her dressing sense was loud. She would wear very open clothes at all occassion, then be it a temple or a party. On one occassion, it was an award ceremony where my son was getting felicitated for some of his achivements. We were all dressed well for the occassion, it was a respectful occassion, but she as always came with some absurd revealing dress, which showed almost every part of her body.
Even my son was uncomfortable in that moment. So this is what I do not approve. Dressing appropriately for the occassion is important. I cannot wear micro mini and visit a Temple, I need to be sensitive about it. I am not generalizing but the Genzies feel it is ok to wear whatever they like at any place. Wearing a bikini by the pool side is appropriate but wearing it in a market place is not.
At the same time whatever I wear is my choice and that should not drive the opposite person to look at me in a malicious way. First of all people who have malicious and wrong intentions do not bother what we are wearing, there is so much filth in their mind that even if a girl is fully covered head to toe, they will go ahead and rape her and still blame the girl. To an extent I do not relate such actions with clothing, it is their upbringing and the mindset that drives these actions. They objectify women and children and hence they are capable of taking such filthy actions.
Not every girl who wears revealing clothes get raped and not every girl who wears a burqah is safe.
