This world for sure is not an easy place to live. From the moment we are born we are put on a weighing scale and through out our life this measuring on the scale goes on in categories of good and bad. The world does not even leave a new born. When a baby is born, immediately everyone around starts judging the baby on skin color, features and what not. The world is always ready to make us feel small at every opportunity. It's us who have to stand for our own self.
As a child I faced this multiple times, since my parents had their own issues, I was put in a boarding school away from home. All I sensed was people feeling sorry for me and pitying my life. There were too many family issues and everyone around would make me feel as if I had stepped in to hell. Constant pity used to flow and I used to hate it. If people would gift me also something they would make me feel that because my parents could not give me and my conditions were bad that's why they were giving it to me. For a long time, I felt miserable about my life, low on confidence and I always felt that everyone was obliging me, which was not always the case. My merits never came in the picture. Some times I used to wonder why is there never an appreciation, why do people always feel sorry about me and my life.
As an adult when I started becoming independant, I wanted to get rid of all these sympathies and wanted people to recognize me from my work and not always connect me with my parents and their life miseries. It took a long time for me to stand up for myself and speak up and when I did, many of my close ones did not like it, because everyone around was used to seeing me as a weak and emotionally fragile little girl with no power and always living on sympathies.
Becoming financially independent was my first step towards finding my own strength, growing up the ladder in my job gave me more confidence. Most of all my honesty always gave me lot of power to stand up against anyone or anything. My achievements in life kept going up and with that I kept raising the bar day by day for myself. As of today, no one can dare to make me feel small. If they do, I can make them feel small much more with my achievements and accomplishments in life. Also the level of confidence that I have is very high and no matter whoever is in front of me, I do not feel small about myself in any way, even if that person is a multimillionaire or billionaire. Money can never make me feel small because I am happy and satisfied with how much I have, so financially I do not compare myself with anyone. I believe that each one has what they deserve.
When life throws challenges at me, my courage is my family, we work together as a team to overcome our challenges. No one is left alone to deal with.
