Ladies of Hive Community Contest #310 - The character that I will like to play

@LadiesofHive Community Contest #310 questions for the week are:

1️⃣ If ever the Ladies of Hive community organize a lavish Masquerade meetup, what historical figure, accomplished author/artist, or fictional character will you dress as to attend this imaginary event, and why? ~ 𝐀𝐍𝐃 / 𝐎𝐑 ~ 2️⃣ Set aside the body wash, turn off the shower, swap that brush for a microphone and imagine yourself a famous singer. What style would you sing? Pick one, two, or even three other Hive members as members of your imaginary music group and the state the reason why.

India under British rule had many freedom fighters who would go to any length to get Britishers out of India. One such lady was Madam Bhijaiji Cama. She was also known as - The Mother of the Indian Revolution. She was given this title because she was the first woman to demand complete independence from the britishers. Her base was in Paris and from there she carried out complete revolutionary activities. She was a journalist and a activist also. She had launched a revolutionary monthly journal called Bande Mataram from Paris. She herself funded, wrote and published this journal.

She was a fierce lady, who never stopped her agenda against the british rule and even though not staying in India she equally participated from another land, where she had major support from the Indian expat groups in Europe. One of her most notable actions has been in 1907, when in Germany during a International Socialist Congress in Stuttgart, she got on to the stage, gave a fiery speech on the British rule catastrophes on India and she unfurled the first version of the Indian National Flag on foreign soil. With this action her aim was to showcase India as an Independent free Country.

Along with participating in Freedom fight, she also was an advocate for women rights and gender equality. She was a power house and has many notable achievements. India had also released stamps with her picture on it. So, if Hive community organizes a lavish masquerade, I will like to dress up like her. She was as such a very simple lady. She belongs to my community, or rather I can say, I belong to her community and that's what fills me with pride and I will like to dress like her.

My favorite artist are Celine Dion and Enrique. For this particular one, I will go with Celine Dion. I do not even have 10% of her talent but I can still sing and as we know she sings on high pitch, I will also have to do that. The good part will be that I can turn the shower on so that no one will be able to hear me.

Thank you for visiting my blog. 👼🏻👼🏻💖💖🌹🌺🌸

This week's questions were so nice. I actually came away having learned about several historical ladies I had never even heard of before.

And the music question took me right back. Enrique Iglesias was everyone's favorite back then. I had his posters covering my bedroom walls as a teenager. My taste in music drifted somewhere else over the years, but that little phase is still a fond memory.

The story of that brave woman, who fought for her country’s freedom, is truly moving, and proudly honouring her by dressing up as her at the grand Ladies’ celebration is undoubtedly a way of showing your respect and admiration. Have a lovely evening, my friend, !LADY !PIZZA

  • I've just googled up Madam Bhijaiji Cama because I am not very familiar with her story since I grew up in a public school system that is actually terrible at teaching real history. You know I enjoy history. In my reference, she is like America's Betsy Ross who created the first flag of the USA of Independence, however the similarities end. Madam Bhijaiji Cama not only envisioned her flag of an Independent India but was ferociously active in speaking against British rule in public and much more. She didn't see the fruits of her work but Independence was finally achieved. Amazing!

I learned something new. Be sure to have the 1907 flag when you become Bhijaiji Cama @nainaztengra 🎭

A truly strong woman, such a shame she had to base her revolution out of France to avoid having the British hang her. In those time the British weren't kind to the resistance... She was an awe inspiring woman, and I can see why you would like to play her. For her day and age women were rarely the strong leader, I hadn't heard her story until now and I looked her up. Thanks for the information, what and inspiring woman!

Madam Bhikhaji Cama is such a powerful choice for the masquerade and her unfurling the flag in Stuttgart is a fascinating piece of history 🌻
