Peace is a luxury

With all the chaos around us that we are living in, peace is surely a luxury and sometimes it does not come free of cost also. I can say majority of the times it does not come free of cost. In actual it is meant to be free, because being peaceful comes from within. But the problem is that we do not know how to bring this peace from within and to learn that we need help. That's where we have this whole business industry of Meditation retreats, wellness spas, healing therapies and what not.

People can barely find peace at home, even if they are living all alone by themselves, and there is no one to disturb them. Because while the outside noise may not be there but the inside one is constantly going on. Rather I have seen people who are living alone more restless, because sometimes loneliness is killing them. Being alone is not always pleasant for everyone, not everyone can handle that silence, we human beings are social beings and we want people around us. There are few exceptions who have learned to live all by themselves.

There are times when I too feel more peaceful outdoors then indoors, like going to a beach or on the mountains. There is an energy shift in these places which works on the mind. Sometimes I want a secluded nature place and I have to pay for that, because such places do not come for free. As funny as it may sound, we pay to learn to breathe, when this is something the most basic for us. We are alive because we are breathing. But then people tell you, you are not breathing right and you want to learn to breathe right, the inhale and exhale and that's what you pay for.

The meditation retreats and programs teach you to quiet your mind. There is no great thing about it, but yet we need to be taught and we pay for it. I had read this very beautiful write up, on how spirituality is also a luxury. Somewhere I feel it is true, because if you are struggling in poverty and problems day in and out, you have very little room in your mind to think about spirituality and the bigger things of life. You are so much struggling in your own problems that you are always in am unrestful state. Whereas the person who has what is needed to live a good life, will surely be more drawn towards spirituality, because there is some room in the mind to think about it.

Through the day we are caught up in things, the phone is ringing, there are deadline pressure, there is home to manage, we are running after our big goals of life and so much is going on in life all at the same time, and in that one has to find their peace. The more the noise around and within the more expensive the peace is becoming.

Thank you for visiting my blog. 👼🏻👼🏻💖💖🌹🌺🌸

When we're alone, we would expect to find peace and quiet, but sometimes, it feels like there's a contest going on inside our head because our mind is so noisy and full of thoughts. I read somewhere that we really need to train our minds because we have thousands of thoughts every day, and most of them are repetitive. That's why practicing meditation is important to help us learn to control our minds. However, it's not easy, and we need someone to guide us through the process.

I once attended a meditation session with an instructor, but even after the first session ended, my mind was still so noisy. It made me realize that training the mind isn't something that happens overnight. It takes time, patience, and consistent practice.

I agree that peace is a luxury because learning to train our minds sometimes requires guidance and money.

  • Very true! Finding peace is so hard these days, love your thoughts on this. 🥰

True peace may not come from purchasing costly experiences; rather, it lies in learning to calm the mind and appreciating the present moment.

Peace is very expensive sometimes and sometimes it is the little things that brings us peace.
