My thoughts on Weight Loss Injections

These days we are commonly hearing the names of weight loss injections like Ozempic and Mounjaro. It's been in the market since last couple of years but lately I have been hearing commonly about it. My thinking about these injections previously was that it is a quick fix solution for obesity and not the right kind of medication that should be out in the market.

Over the last one year, couple of people I know have started using it to tackle their obesity issue. I know that 3 of these people have been trying everything to reduce weight. They are a family and all of them are above 110+ kgs and one of them almost 130, so that's not at all good. Also, one of the guys has multiple health issue like diabetes and high blood pressure. Their family Doctor recommended that they go in for Ozempic injections. When my friend told me about it, I was feeling negative about it. I told her not to go for it even if the Doctor is suggesting.

Of course, she went ahead with it, and it's been almost a year and all 3 of them have lost 30 to 40 Kgs. The guy with multiple health issues has been doing much better with his health and reduced weight. His sugar levels are getting in control. They have been doing monthly medical check-up and the parameters are only improving. The Doctor has been guiding them well on the nutrition and lifestyle part.

Seeing their results, I feel that this medication is not all that bad. I do not have medical knowledge so I am only going ahead with the sentiments of people on social media. There is a lot of negative publicity about it. Saying that, I still believe that one should not go for it only with the intention of weight loss and without proper medical advice. In this family case, they all had medical conditions and most of them were related to obesity. So as that was getting taken care of, their other health issues were automatically getting taken care of.

There are some people, who do not want to do anything for weight loss and they think that taking injections will help them reduce weight. Though I am not having medical background, I do understand this a little, that these injections do not only lose fat, there is also loss of muscle volume, and there can also be reduction in bone mineral density. It can lead to many medical risks.

While I am not against it now after seeing the results of it with some people, I am still not completely for it. I believe it should be the last resort for weight loss. Only when nothing else is working then this should be considered. The weight loss that happens with these injections can also be gained equally fast if one does not take proper care after stopping it. When you do weight loss in natural ways, that effect is for longer time if the same habits are sustained.

After seeing the results with my friends, hubby has been thinking of taking it, since he cannot do diets and not much of exercise also. He does have health issues after his myasthenia. The Doctor is not saying no, but still we have been having constant arguments over it since the past few days because I want him to go the natural way. Finally, I managed to convince him to not go for it and start with natural ways for weight reduction. Let's see how much I can be successful with him.

Thank you for visiting my blog. 👼🏻👼🏻💖💖🌹🌺🌸

  • If there is a chance that a natural solution can help that should be tried first before committing to using Ozempic. My Roommate was prescribed this expensive medication in conjunction with consistent dietary discipline yielding reasonable results. The side effects where a significant trade off in terms of quality of life and added health risks. There were times I seen the look on my friend's tired eyes, "Is all this worth it?"
ozempic889x500.jpg Side effects will vary in size and shape and it may not be effective for some. Treatment begins as a tablet or as in an injection form as a minimum dose gradually working it up to the full dosage recommended by your Doctor.

I hope your husband finds a workable solution before using Ozempic 🙏

For people who need to lose a lot of weight and are willing to change their diet and lifestyle they are a great help. But like you said, if you aren't working out or eating enough protein muscle loss is going to happen. Plus, if you lose too much weight too fast in can cause gallbladder problems and pancreatitis. The natural way is always best, but when someone need to to lose massive amounts of weight it can help. But the problem is when most people stop them they gain some of the weight right back... Two sides to each coin I suppose! Great post!

For me, I think losing weight naturally is still the better approach. Although it takes more time, patience, and determination, I feel that it’s a safer and more sustainable way compared to losing weight through injections. We also don’t always know what long-term complications or side effects might appear later on, so I’d rather take the natural approach and give my body enough time to adjust. Good thing you were able to convince your husband to take the natural approach.

Well, it's really important to understand that proper medical treatments actually work positively best... when they are meaningfully supported by healthy lifestyle & habits, in totality. Ironically, Self Care is the least attended and preferred by many, leading to serious complications,. later.
