A Bit of My Day-to-Day (+ vídeo)

1001019389.jpg

I know I still have a lot to learn when it comes to video editing, and honestly I tend to make them very quickly… perhaps if I took more time to plan the shots and frame them better. But it’s also true (without meaning to justify myself) that I’m tangled up in many things at once, with responsibilities like carrying stuff from one place to another, battling the madness that’s always on the road, and of course trying to stay safe.

Truck and bus drivers aren’t usually very kind to cyclists, and don’t get me started on motorbike riders—many of them must have bought their licence because they don’t know how to drive. They overtake you on the right and brake in front without warning… or taxi drivers who suddenly stop to pick up passengers, forcing you to slam into potholes or squeeze against the kerb.

So I do what I can, and if I get too perfectionist I end up not posting anything, 😅.

I was really happy to be able to get a delivery yesterday, and it just so happened that I was playing a bit with the camera, thinking that if nothing came up I’d go and make a video of whatever, just for fun.

Things are so tough around here that it’s better to take it easy and let things flow if they want to flow—and if not, well, it’s up to us to go along with them.

Leaving Santa Fe, the cycle computer showed 33 km covered, which can be seen in the video. So I already had that distance in mind since I checked with the Maps.me app and saw the whole route I had to take. I took a screenshot of it, though I forgot to add the stretch that was missing for the return home.

That can be seen in the data from my cycle computer, although I accidentally stopped it by the Marianao Obelisk when there were still two or three kilometres left before reaching home.

I think the payment for that delivery wasn’t fair because in reality I covered 24 km (the distances from my home to the pickup point and from the drop-off point to my home are not included), yet I was paid for 19 and a half… but anyway… I’m grateful for having been able to work today and earn some money.

Something is better than nothing in this respect. There are other matters where I do not compromise on what I want, nor do I settle for less.

You’re doing really well with the video editing! I can just picture your YouTube channel featuring these topics!!! And it was a productive day, everything was brilliant!! That’s the way to do it, waiting up on the roof paid off!

Good afternoon, @nanixxx. The video is excellent, and it’s clear you’ve watched a lot of great cinema. I hope the universe showers you with beautiful things—including a bit of extra cash.

    Sending you a huge hug.

Hola @nanixxx !

So how does that work, the delivery thing, you have an app to pick deliveries and you get paid for the one way distance?
