Hello, Splinterlands fans. Today we’re back with our regular series where I talk about and show you all the latest updates from my adventures in this spectacular virtual world of SPL. Today is one of those days when Mother Nature, God, or the universe has blessed me with a surprise or two, which I’ll be sharing with you below. With each passing week, we can see progress—albeit a bit slow—in Splinterlands. But that’s what matters: we’re making progress.

El día de hoy estamos de vuelta con la serialización habitual donde les hablo y muestro todas las novedades de mis aventuras en este espectacular mundo virtual de SPL. Hoy es uno de esos días donde la madre naturaleza, Dios o el universo me han bendecido con una que otra sorpresa que les estaré contando a continuación. Cada semana que pasa, podemos presenciar un progreso, aunque un poco lento en Splinterlands. Pero lo importante es eso, que estamos progresando.

Gold I in Frontier
Let’s start with a pleasant surprise—or rather, an achievement on my part—that I didn’t think I’d accomplish this season. That’s right, folks, I’ve managed to climb to Gold I rank in the Frontier edition of Splinterlands. While I know this is more for beginners—and personally, I still consider myself one even after playing this game for over two months—it’s still exciting to achieve this milestone. By the way, something I didn’t know until recently—because I hadn’t done my research—is that Gold I is the highest rank you can reach in Frontier.
Empecemos con una grata sorpresa, un logro -mejor dicho- de mi parte y que no pensaba que conseguiría en esta temporada. Así es señores, he conseguido subir de rango a Gold I en la edición de Frontier en Splinterlands. Si bien sé que esto es más para principiantes, cosa que personalmente considero que lo sigo siendo aún con ya más de dos meses jugando este juego, igual es emocionante conseguir este logro. Por cierto, algo que no sabía hasta hace poco, debido a que no me he informado bien al respecto, es que Gold I es el rango máximo en el que uno puede llegar a alcanzar en Frontier.

I must have confused it with Modern before, where there are more ranks after Gold and it’s much harder to climb the ranks there. But anyway, I just need to stay consistent and keep investing more and more in booster packs and cards I’ll need to be able to move up a tier/rank in Modern. Anyway, back to Frontier—when I reached Gold I, I received the following rewards: 16 Energy Points, 24 Potions, and 4 Common Foundation Cards. The cards I got were Mad Gearhead (Goblin), Kanaag Miner (Goblin), and two Frankarsgard (Canisan).
Seguramente me había confundido antes con Modern, donde tienen más rangos después de Gold y es mucho más difícil subir por ahí. Pero bueno, solo me falta constancia y seguir invirtiendo más y más en sobres y cartas que vaya a necesitar para poder lograr subir de liga/rango en Modern. Pero bueno, regresando a Frontier, al conseguir el Gold I obtuve como recompensa lo siguiente: 16 Puntos de Energía, 24 Pociones y 4 Cartas Foundation Comunes. Las cartas que me salieron fueron Mad Gearhead (Goblin), Kanaag Miner (Goblin) y dos Frankarsgard (Canisan).

Seventeenth Starter Pack Opening
Let’s move on to another delightful surprise I had very recently when I opened my seventeenth pack of Starter Packs—which I bought just a few hours before writing this. As everyone here knows very well, in Splinterlands it’s not easy to get Archon cards from packs, just as is often the case with Units. However, my luck in this game is such that in the first few weeks of opening Starter Packs, I was surprised to have obtained all the Archons I now have in my collection. Still, after more than a month of continuing this habit of buying and opening packs, I thought I wouldn’t find any more—but that changed today after what I pulled from this latest pack.
Sigamos con otra gratificante sorpresa que tuve muy recientemente con mi decimoséptima apertura de Sobres Starter que me he comprado hace pocas horas de escribir esto. Como muy bien sabrán todos aquí, en Splinterlands no es fácil conseguir cartas Archon (Arcontes) en sobres, tal y como sucede muy a menudo con las Unidades. The fifth and final card I earned in this Starter Pack opening is a new Archon—a RARE card of the Water element called Gorgug The Endless (Orc). This Archon has two abilities that, together, provide a variety of benefits to allied Units, such as Bloodline Dominion and Enrage. These abilities simply grant allied cards with the same bloodline the Enrage ability. Another special ability this card has—and one I personally really like—is the ability to reduce the range attack by one point for all enemy units.
La quinta y última carta que me gané en esta apertura de Sobres Starter es una nueva Archon, de rareza RARA y del elemento Agua llamada Gorgug The Endless (Orc). Esta Arconte posee dos habilidades que, juntas, ofrecen una variedad de beneficios a las Unidades aliadas como lo son: Bloodline Dominion y Enrage. Dichas habilidades simplemente les otorga a las cartas aliadas con el mismo linage de sangre la capacidad de la habilidad Enrage. Otra habilidad especial que posee esta carta y que personalmente me gusta mucho es la de quitarle un punto de ataque de rango a todas las Unidades enemigas.
