How Free Are Our Choices?

A chanced upon a video of this lady yesterday on tiktok where she said she woke up and decided to hire bodyguards for the day just because she wanted to feel like a celebrity. In truth, she did it and did it very well. It’s funny how most people thought she was a celebrity and others even approached her to take pictures with her. Being famous is really just a state of mind because she did it without a breaking a sweat.

Now, that right there is how to make good use of your free will. We all have free will but how many of us use our free will to our advantage. In my part of the world, most of us are so timid that even the basic things appear huge to us and we tend to shy away from so many things. Life really isn’t that serious is you ask me and everything you want us on the other side of shyness. Shyness is the one thing that holds most of us back because I’ve seen what letting go of shyness has done for others, including myself.

At my age, I don’t think I’m using my freewill enough even though I do use it on some days. Someone might say that we don’t really have free will which I will agree to, to some extent. Everyone has their own definition of freewill but for the basic things we can do, we all have the right to do them. However, there are some things we can’t just wake up and do because we have free will.

For example, you can’t just wake up one day and decide to buy a gun and go about shooting people all because you have free will. Or maybe you book a whole tv channel to go and sit and insult your leaders. Things like this aren’t acceptable anywhere as it is. There are rule everywhere which ensure that people don’t misbehave because some people might misinterpret the meaning of them having a free will. Having free will or human rights is a must for us all but misbehaving in the name of free will is something I don’t think any country will allow.

Whatever you choose to do with your free will is up to you. However, if you commit a sin in the process, you will be accountable for your actions. This is why some people believe that we do not have free will because they believe some of their actions are being restricted by rules that have been put in place. In reality, these rules are there to maintain law and order in the country in order to provide a safe space for us all. But I believe there are places in the world where the people don’t have free will. People are being oppressed and they don’t even have the ability and means to say it out loud.

If you have some level of free will wherever you are, we grateful enough to acknowledge it and use it as you wish because life is as short as it gets.

  • That bodyguard stunt was hilarious, but it’s true that fear of people’s opinions stops us from enjoying simple freedoms especially if that person is the type that acts on the opinions of others about them.

Free will is underutilised because it is not explicit. We still have laws that guide thise free wills to deter people from doing the wrong thing. Thank you for sharing those experiences it was helpful. !ALIVE

Of course, free will depends on how we take it ourselves, we can do whatever we want as far as we are not hurting anyone who going against any law. Despite the fact that we have free will, it’s always important to be careful of whatever we want to do, to avoid being in trouble. At least we have to balance everything .
