Cleanliness they say is next to Godliness and this is very true. Dirt doesn’t have anything to do with humans or even be around us. Anywhere there is dirt, there is sickness and I bet none of us wants to fall sick literally all the time. However, we keep on doing and repeating the habits that always land us in the hospital or even worse, homeless. Because tell me why you will pile up rubbish in your backyard for a week to even months only to go and dump them by the roadside, in the running gutter of even behind someone’s incomplete building. And to top it all off, the waste isn’t just rubber or paper waste. There is left over food, old clothes, household rubbish, and all sorts of things.
All these things coming together will obviously end up sticking giving the reactions going on between all these things. Then they start to smell, animals come and pick at whatever they can eat, there’s worms, and then the cycle continues. Among all these acts, there’s a bigger enemy which is the big companies that choose to dump their waste into our water bodies and on our lands.
There’s nothing that can kill us fast as a human race than having our water bodies polluted. Our water bodies are our major source of drinking water. Where do you think most of your bottle water comes from? They all come from the same source, the only good part is they are purified. But do you know the extent to which your preferred bottled water is purified? How about those who drink directly from these water bodies? That’s what I thought also. Then we have those who spill their left over waste on our lands. Lands where we eat from, where we live and do so many things. What you eat makes or breaks you. Farming on land that has been contaminated with all sorts of toxins isn’t what we envision for ourselves.
I’d say most governments have made it a point to sanction all individuals who dispose waste inappropriately. But the bigger question is, what about the huge companies that bring our government a lot of revenue. I always say everything is political. Most of our leaders are being paid to be silent about all that is going on. They see it and they know it. They know the effects also but their either choose to turn a blind eye or are forced to turn a blind eye.
This however isn’t the way to go. We need to protect what is ours and we can only do that if we face the truth. Sanction anyone who goes against this policies no matter how big or small they are. This way, the world is safer and better for us all.
