Long days, a country that is suffering, and we carry on./Días largos, un país que sufre, y nosotros seguimos adelante

Good evening, blog friends—I’m back with you again. These are challenging days for me personally, as we are dealing with various financial issues (which we hope to resolve little by little). This has meant navigating a long, bureaucratic process, often spending our free days moving from one office to another. It’s also a difficult time for my country; you may be aware that there are violent demonstrations and protests taking place all across Europe—Italy is no exception. We have a government that has brought us to our knees—perhaps tomorrow I’ll write a post specifically about the situation, as there are protests happening throughout the country. The general atmosphere is far from ideal, and on top of that, my depression has returned with greater intensity. I try to fight it, but it’s not easy in this environment—especially when you’re faced with bad news every single day, alongside the economic problems that inevitably fall on the shoulders of ordinary citizens. That said, we have managed to sort through some paperwork and, fortunately, have been able to set up payment plans for some of our debts. To be honest, I’m quite exhausted—both physically and mentally—but thankfully, when I get home, I’m always greeted by my adorable cats. They have a special gift for lifting my spirits with their cuddles, their sweet little faces, and their gentle, comforting presence.

Anyway, despite my low spirits, my outfits have been quite cheerful; today I was dressed almost entirely in pink—like a sugared almond. We also got to enjoy the sight of a lovely cloudy sky and a brief thunderstorm—a bit of autumn was just what we needed, and it happens to be my favorite season, too. For lunch, we had something quick—turkey burgers, pork loin, and potatoes. I didn’t manage to take a photo of the final result, but it was a speedy meal; I haven’t had much time for elaborate dishes lately, though I’m hoping to make up for that this weekend when I’ll have more free time. In any case, I truly hope that I, my family, and the country as a whole will all be doing well soon.

Right now, in my country, too, many people are facing economic hardship, and natural disasters are happening everywhere. It’s so sad to see what’s happening now; I hope we can get through all of this.

  • When a family faces debt, bureaucratic hassles, and uncertainty about the future, even daily activities can become particularly challenging. Today, we live in a time of economic scarcity; there is no abundance. I sincerely hope that the situation improves soon and that you can find some peace, both financially and personally. !WINE
