Everyone is preparing for the El Nino system to arrive, and our dry weather has already started.
Clouds as white as snow now here in our early summer season.
I will show you three stages of the day, early morning mountains (3 shots). Then the misty afternoon at the ocean (2 shots) and a later look at the ocean just before sunset (5 shots).
We face a battle on two fronts, and the first is that our signal keeps on disappearing unexpectedly. It has now happened twice that a red light warning pops up on our router, and the internet feed shuts off. Of course, you know what that means, as anything unsaved disappears during the construction of a post.
The second battle is that water restrictions will be back soon, as our dam levels are very low, and that means only 5 minute showers. We will see many green home pools as no water will be allowed for refilling swimming pools. Many farmers have already switched over their crops from maize to sunflowers as they can handle the heat much better. So, come and have a look.
We love to see the clouds flowing across the mountain peaks (2 shots plus tag photo).
Here are the two afternoon views of the mist on the ocean.
And have a look at the views later in the day.
This is why I could not get a sunset, as the day ended like this.
We cannot expect any water to come down, as we are in a winter rainfall area, and yet far higher up in the country, they have thunderstorms and hail. The dams are overflowing, but down here the dams are drying up. When we have a look across the world it seems that things are not much better. It is just a reminder for all of us on how much it depends on the weather systems. It is said that the sky is not happy, due to the tons of toxic gases that we keep on pumping up into the atmosphere, and for some strange reason I think that nature is angry and that the El Nino is sent as a warning of worse to come. Let's hope not, and that we can somehow restore the damages. Such is life.
I hope you enjoyed the pictures and the story.
