Remember this fountain with all the birds?

I posted it about 3, or 4 years ago, and the ones that are still here on Hive might remember it. 100.jpg

So, we returned here, as we heard that a new coffee shop had opened up. I will show you some doves (5 shots), then a starling (2 shots) and then a little swee (3 shots). The fountain is situated inside an open square that is surrounded with high buildings, and the birds love that, as they can dive down from the rooftops to bathe safely in the fountain. So tame and used to people walking around in the square. Come and see.

First up are the pigeons and a ringneck dove. 101.JPG

Here's the Ringneck dove below. 091.JPG

Then just to show you how busy this fountain is. 096.JPG

Have you ever seen a Red winged starling like this?

The starlings are also semi-tame, but also still skittish, and they can suddenly take off if they see, or hear anything unusual. Something like a loud laugh, or a loud cough. But this one had a quick bath, and then it sat on the edge of the fountain with some water dripping down on it.

Oooh, this was so nice to sit and dry in the sun, but sadly before it could get completely dry, something scared it and it took off. 134.JPG

A little Swee also came in for a drink.

The swees are very clever as they sit and wait in a tree near the fountain, and as soon as they see that the fountain has a vacancy of bird visitors, then they will hurriedly pop down to take a drink. They are too small to bath in the fountain as it is too deep, and so they will rather sit below the drops coming down from the fountain head.

Here below you can see it drinking. 115.JPG

And here you can see it waiting for the drops to fall on it. 119.JPG

Sometimes I get lucky at this fountain, as bigger birds like egrets and other species also come in to enjoy the fountain, but on this day, I could only see this. Never mind, as I was happy with the quota of birds that I saw, and it is wonderful to see the activities at the fountain. Oh yes, let me not forget to tell you that it is not all good and well, as at times an argument can break out between the rock pigeons and the doves, and then the pigeons chase the doves away.

I think the birds really enjoy their hygiene activities, especially when the sun is shining. You can clearly see that they love it, and the strange thing is that they don't make a noise. All was silent. Not like me, as I sing loudly in the shower. I often say, I sing so loud that the aunty next door grabs her dog and goes to hide under her bed. Lol. Such is life.

I hope you enjoyed the pictures and the story.

The little birds looked so beautiful with their bright colors, and loved them so much.
