Seven years ago I reached the formal retirement age, but life had other plans for me.
So, now I will show you a road trip to another town as I was requested to do a eulogy at a memorial service. You will see the young yellow Canola fields and also some animals on the way. We live in a very spacious country, with very big farms and all kinds of products are produced. The town where we were destined was about a 2 hour drive away and it was still early morning. The skies were overcast, but not a drop of rain fell and it was not cold. Ideal weather for a trip. Come and drive with us.
The road was in a great condition, and a real pleasure to drive along.
I took three shots of the cattle line up on a farm.
They must have lined up to feed, and maybe feed bales were rolled out for them.
Back to the road, and on the horizon, you can see a faint line of pesticide sprayers.
Like I said, the canola fields were all over.
The fields on this farm have been planted, and soon the growth will start to appear. In the meantime, some cattle were feeding in the long grass near the roadside.
And finally, this was taken on our way back home.
So, now let me tell you about my view on the aspect of retirement. I like to keep things simple, and as long as I have breath in me, I will continue to work. Yes, I know that my body will start to pack up, and I might end up on a bed, but then I can still work on my laptop on Hive and other such things. I think that people have the wrong idea about retirement, or should I say some people, as they regard retirement as the end of their working life, which to me is a fallacy as there are many out there that are still at work into their late 80's and 90's.
I don't know if I will reach those ages, but what I know is that I will never retire and I would rather die on the job, as they say. Another mistake that some youngsters make is that they think that old people are past their productive years, but I can tell them that the old people have bank-vaults full of experiences, and also wisdom. Many old people have even peaked at an old age to become millionaires with one or another business idea. Such is life.
