This is the first Wednesday in September—it’s hard to believe how far into the year we’ve gotten. Well, a walk wouldn’t hurt to get a little exercise, plus I have to pick up my son from school. So I walked there alone, but I walked back with him, and once I was with my son, my walk turned into a real adventure filled with beautiful and even spectacular sights.
Along the way, one block from the school, there’s a shrub that produces some beautiful flowers. I always see those pink flowers peeking out from a house’s garden onto the street, and I never get tired of gazing at them with admiration. The bush is a variety of Clerodendrum; I like it because it’s always lush and full of flowers—you have to dodge the clusters of tiny blossoms, which are very brightly colored and look so delicate. To me, this flowering bush offers a spectacular view.
The second thing we saw was a nest in a tree. The great thing was that the mother bird was there; she seemed completely immersed in her role as a self-sacrificing, watchful, protective, and brave mother, even though she’s surely scared to death because she knows there’s always danger. But this bird, though small in size, has a huge and unwavering natural determination to care for her nest, where she shelters her eggs; she acts like a true mother. It was a spectacular sight.
To end on a high note—and I say that because we were almost home. What happened was that we saw a Mustang coming, and since I really love that car, I managed to snap a couple of photos of it just as it passed by. That car is a beauty, and I especially enjoy seeing these gorgeous machines. Every time my son sees one, he says to me, “Look, Mom, your favorite.” I like them in any color, and this one was a metallic lead-gray shade, but my son told me it was silver. “Well, okay,” I said. We both enjoyed watching it, and my son identified it as a Mustang GT. Although Mustangs are seen fairly often, they’re a very eye-catching type of car, and when that engine roars—needless to say—it’s like its cry of power. Yes, I’m fascinated by this muscle car, and that’s why this Wednesday outing ended on a high note—with this spectacular view.
I'd also like to share some other photos I took of gardens along the way.

I hope you enjoyed the spectacular view as much as I did.
A hug!
