Hello everyone. Hope you all are doing well. I'm glad to be here . This is my very first time posting in the reflection community. Today, I will be sharing a story, or will I say, part of my story.
So, there was a time when I started to love music. Actually, I'm a very big lover of music. I love music so much, ever since I was very little. So, let me share with you some part of my music experience.
When I was learning music, I joined a choir in our church, in my church. So, at that time, I didn't have a good voice, or will I say, a good singing voice. So, at first, when I was singing, I was very shy of myself because I couldn't sing. So, whenever I sang, my director would always complain about my voice. Each time I was about to sing, each part I tried to sing, the director would always complain. So, that was supposed to discourage me, but I still continued. There were certain times when I tried to learn an instrument: keyboard, piano. But actually, that season also helped me to boost my singing ability, because whenever I was trying to, whenever we went for rehearsals, I must sing before playing, or will I say, play while singing. But I didn't take the learning of the keyboard seriously. So, that season also helped me to boost my singing ability. That is how I continued learning, continued learning. So, each time we went for choir rehearsals, my director would be like I should not be changing different voices. That's different octaves. Because we have octaves in singing and also in voices. We have different octaves. So, this is how I continued learning. And that choir taught me a lot about music. That is my foundation. It taught me a lot. So, when I continued singing, then I realized that I needed to join the band, which consists of using instruments and sounds. And so, I joined the band. When I joined the band, at first, I thought singing with an instrument would be very easy. Because whenever I saw people singing, I would feel like it was easy. When I held the mic, I would do just as they did. But I didn't know that holding the mic required consistency. So, I continued to sing, sing. So, the first time that I held the mic, oh my God, I thought I wasn't the one singing because I couldn't even comprehend my voice. I was just confused. The mic was bringing out my voice so differently that I couldn't even understand what was going on. So, that was my first experience. It was not too bad, though. After that, this is how I continued using the mic as a backup singer. I usually stayed as a backup singer, singing from that side. That is how I developed my voice, developed my voice. And even now, I'm still learning. Even now, I'm still growing. I'm still in the band. And there is one thing that I believe, and I know: consistency is the key to greatness and growth. So, I know very well that when I started, my voice wasn't the same, and all because of seriousness and consistency. Image source
