It is a new week for the TopFamily community contest; a photograph provided by @lanzjoseg allows us to craft a post—whether a story, a tale, or a piece of creative writing—inspired by the image. I am sharing the post containing the simple contest rules here: Contest: Observe, Think, Write, so you can participate if you wish.

Seeing the motorcycle brings back two memories from my life involving bikes. One is of when my older brother was determined to buy a motorcycle using money he had earned working in my parents' shop. It was an act of great rebellion at the time; I don't recall if he was lectured on the dangers of riding such a vehicle, but he was happy—and, of course, he ended up having an accident. As I recall, a taxi cut across his path; when he braked, the bike skidded, dragging his body along the ground and causing a gash near his backside. That wound hurt all the more because our mother had to treat it. I can just imagine the long lecture on the dangers of motorcycles and the final verdict: "You have to sell the bike."

It also brings back musical memories of the group Menudo; even though I was past the age of being their target audience, I still enjoyed watching and listening to them on television.

SÚBETE A MI MOTO - MENUDO - 1981 (REMASTERIZADO)

What wonderful memories this can bring back for many girls who love the joy of music—like our friend @mafalda2018, who adores musical nostalgia. How many devoted fans are out there?

"Súbete a mi moto" 🎵 is one of the biggest hits by the famous Puerto Rican teen band Menudo, originally released in 1981 as part of their album Quiero ser. The song was originally performed by René Farrait.

Here’s an interesting fact I came across during my online research: the song was originally titled "Sube a mi motora," but the title had to be changed to "Súbete a mi moto" because, in some Latin American countries, the word "motora" carried connotations linked to drug slang.

A photograph that can bring back so many memories and inspire us to share our stories.

What a wonderful, memorable story! 😊 It is truly amazing how an ordinary motorcycle can bring back so many childhood memories, lessons, and emotions. The pages of memory are a living library.
