Hello there! **@saydie** here, playing **Splinterlands** everyday!
In just a few hours, the jackpot draws for Luckiest Longshot will take place. At the same time, this event will also bring to a conclusion for the weekly fortune draws, which means all the Black Foils and Arcane Foils reward cards have been distributed. The draws went on for 53 weeks in total, and it's crazy how we are at the end of those 53 weeks, but here we are. Can't really complain since I already won a fair share of Black Foil rewards, but still hoping to get one more premium card in this final draw.
Anyway, let's check on Luckiest Longshot and how the draw for the card will run.

Luckiest Longshot was a Conclave Arcana unit, which is under the Extra Set. Unlike the reward cards, all of its versions were unbounded and can be traded, but they can only be burned for Glint, so they do not contribute to DEC inflation. For 7 mana, it got some decent stats in terms of speed and health. Then, when it comes to damage, it doesn't have much, but it can attack using both melee and magic, giving it a more flexible use case in battle. As for its abilities, it has Scattershot that randomizes the target of its attack, as well as Shatter that can remove the armor of the target, and Stun that prevents the target from attacking in a turn. However, this card also comes with a new debilitation called Stray Shot wherein, whenever this unit attacks with a ranged attack, a random unit on its team takes 2 true damage.
Luckiest Longshot Jackpot Draws
To participate in the Jackpot Draws for Luckiest Longshot, you need to have an active Fortune Pass, which can be acquired by paying 125 DEC for each weekly draw. If a player fails to win any of the premium cards that are raffled in the draw, the player will instead get Lucky Coins, which, with enough copies, a player can get a regular foil copy of Luckiest Longshot.
At the end of the draw, all the coins that each player gets will be totaled in a leaderboard, where players can get a second chance to acquire additional premium copies of Luckiest Longshot.
What will be given for the top leaderboard prize is a guaranteed Mint #1 of 5 Black Foil Arcane for rank 1, a guaranteed Mint #1 of 10 Gold Foil Arcane for rank 2, and a guaranteed Mint #1 Black Foil copy of Luckiest Longshot for rank 3. What lucky folks, but if you think of it the other way around, they could also be the unluckiest, given how many lucky coins that they collected, which could instead be a premium version of the reward cards.
Aside from the leaderboard prizes, there will also be a Second Chance Bucket for the rest of the players, where there will be 700 Gold Foils, 14 Black Foils, 9 Gold Foil Arcanes, and 4 Black Foil Arcanes will be given. All players below the top 3 will get a second chance based on the total number of Lucky coins that they have collected.
For the top 4-10, they will be given 1000 chance.
For the top 11-25, they will be given 500 chance.
For the top 26-50, they will be given 250 chance.
For the top 51-100, they will be given 100 chance.
If we take a look at the top 100 player, it has a total of 16,882 Lucky Coins, not really that far from my 10,368 Lucky Coins, and yet there is still a big gap in the second chances that we get. It does not necessarily mean that he is more unlucky than me, but maybe because he has a higher number of Fortune draws than me.
Closing
With the Fortune Draws and Lucky Longshot Draws about to conclude, some players may lose reason to play the game, and the DEC that is being spent on Fortune passes, which I remember being all burned, will take a pause, so that will mean fewer counters for the DEC inflation. The team said that they were preparing something to replace the Fortune Draw rewards, but hasn't gone into the specifics yet.
Thank you, and see you on the next post!
