Lumina Lightweaver Shows Splinterlands Is More Than A Game

Lumina Lighweaver is the most recent addition to the land cards, but this card holds a special meaning to people because this card was created in loving memory of Lumina, the daughter of longtime Splinterlands community member Dwayne Cunningham, known to many as Infidel1258. Like many others, watching Dwayne's videos has helped me a lot when I was just starting in the game. By watching his videos, you will know how much he loves the game, and hearing the news of losing someone so important to him also makes me feel really sad, but at the same time, I find this way of giving tribute to Lumina's memory more significant, because all the proceeds of the sale will be going to the charity.

Lumina Lightweaver is a common land card that will have its regular foil copy delivered at max level of 10, with a total collection power of 2,100 CP and production power of 2,000 PP. As a land-specific card, it cannot be used in battles, but you can use it as a Foreman in Land buildings. In terms of abilities and PP, there are much better cards you can use, but despite that, many players still decided to support the cause and bought the card. If we take a look at the card, there are a total of 427 cards in circulation. With $ 35 per copy, that means that the general sale has been able to procure a total of $ 14,945, which will all go to the charity of Canuck Place Children’s Hospice, where Lumina spends most of her time.

Meanwhile, for the Fortune draw event, the mint # 2 of Lumina Lightweaver was raffled and was won by moonkiller. In the raffle, players will have to enter using Fortune tickets, which can be made by using 200 Aura and 10 Vouchers in the artisan quarter for 200 DEC, which I assume will also be given to the charity, though I do not know how much it will be, since it was not shown on the page how many entries were entered in the promo.

When it comes to the mint # of Gold Foil Arcane Lumina, chiboulette was able to win the cards by bidding 110 Auction Marks that requires 500 DEC for each Auction Mark to craft, adding another 55,000 DEC for the charity.

Meanwhile, vugtis has won the mint #1 of the Black Foil Arcane Lumina for 152 Auction Marks or an additional 76,000 DEC for the good cause.

But there was more to it because after the sale, members of the community have started to show their land with Lumina Lightweaver on it, together with angel cards, as if to say that Lumina is now happy playing with the angels. I do not know who exactly has started this, but this just shows how the community gives tribute to Lumina.

With this, it just shows that Splinterlands is more than just a game, more than just profit. It shows that Splinterlands has a community that cares about one another, and the cards in the game can hold significant meaning to people.
