Hello, there! **@saydie** here, playing **Splinterlands** everyday!
The Escalation Conflicts are finally close to reaching their endgame, with the fifth Conflict Archon starting in a few days, and after that comes the final Conflict for the Escalation Dragon Archon. This means that within 2 months' time, the Escalation set will finally be completed. After that, cards and packs can finally be taken out of Wagons, so we might see more card supply and make the set more accessible to other players. But right now, let's talk about the next Conflict Archon Druid's Golem, and what it can possibly bring to the game.
Escalation Fifth Conflict Archon
The Conflicts for the fifth Escalation Archon will start on September 29th, which gives players about five days to prepare the cards, packs, and wagons/wagon kit that they will need to acquire enough points to get a guaranteed copy of the Archon. For this next Archon, it was designed with outputs coming from Druidsblood, who holds the No. 2 spot on the Escalation's presale leaderboard, and as part of his rewards, he will also receive a max-level copy of the Archon in all three foils, as well as a unique 1-of-1 skin for the card.
Similar to the previous Conflicts, the fifth Escalation Conflict will run for 30 days, during which players will stake their Escalation packs and cards on Mage wagons to collect the points required to have a copy of the card. After the 30-day period, they will receive airdrop copies of the Archon, based on the total points they have accumulated, though the number of Archons a player can receive can also vary based on luck.
In each Wagon, a player can stake a maximum of 5 cards and 100 Escalation packs. The points that each Wagon can produce will depend on the rarity and foil type of the card, based on its collection power, aside from Black Foil and Black Foil Arcane cards that will x.6 of its collection power. Meanwhile, each pack will give 125 points.
| Type | Points Value |
|---|---|
| Regular Foil | Collection power = Points |
| Gold Foil / Gold Foil Arcane | Collection power = Points |
| Black Foil / Black Foil Arcane | Collection power x .6 = Points |
| Pack Type | Points |
|---|---|
| Escalation Standard Pack | 125 |
Fifth Conflict Archon: Druid's Golem
| Name | Druid's Golem |
|---|---|
| Card Type | Archon |
| Edition | Escalation |
| Rarity | Legendary |
| Mana Cost | 3 |
| Element | |
| Bloodline Dominion* | Golem |
| Tactic | Electrified x 2 |
So, for the next Escalation Conflict, we have the Death Archon Druid's Golem, which has a mana cost of 3. For its ability, it can give the Electrified ability to up to two units through Tactics. Electrified is a debilitation that results in all allied units receiving 1 damage at the beginning of round 2 and each of the following rounds, so long as the card with the debilitation was at play. Usually, you would not want this debilitation to be placed on your units and therefore will place the debilitation on your opponent's units, so that they lose more health, but you could also use this in situations where you have units with the Painforge ability, so that they could gain +1 power each time they get damaged because of the debilitation.
Or better, you can also use the Electrified debilitation to your advantage when the No Pain, No Gain ruleset is in play to boost the damage of your units.
As for its Bloodline Dominion, it can summon units under the Golem bloodline, regardless of their element, and currently, there are three units with the same bloodline as Druid's Golem in modern when it comes to Rebellion and Conclave Arcana Sets.
But aside from that, there are 6 units with the Shapeshift ability that can also be summoned through this Archon, for a total of 9 units.
To get a guaranteed copy of Druid's Golem, a player will need a minimum of 400 entries, with each entry requiring a total of 100,000 points, and each entry also giving a 0.25% chance to receive the Conflict card. Meanwhile, for the premium card foils, they can be obtained through the Leaderboard and Foil Draw systems.
Closing
Looking at the next legendary Archon, I can see it bringing some new interesting strategies, now that you can give Electrified to a unit of your choosing. Well prepared, you can reap the most out of this ability by having units that have the Painforge ability to increase their damage as the round goes, which might be quite a risky play, but could be really satisfying when you pull it off. It is also funny that Druid's Golem can summon Yaba's Pickle if you know what I mean.
Thank you, and see you on the next post!
