Widow's Bay Season 1 (6.9/10)
This series can be seen as a Horror-Comedy genre which I knew in advance, but I did not really know what to expect off as it also isn't really my genre. The story takes place on a remote Island which isn't too remote as there are many people living there in a quite closed community. It follows the new Major who want's to bring more tourism to the Island while he manages habitants who claim the Island is haunted and bad things are about to happen.
This quickly turns into a Series where you actually feel like you are visiting the Island and with a bit of intrigue of what is going on there. There is a good balance between Comedy and Horror but it also kind of needs to be your thing which isn't fully the case for me as it kind of gives a weird vibe. I tend to like Mystery and Horror but when the comedy part takes too much of the highlight it kind of starts feeling a bit distracting I guess. The overall feeling of this show kind of reminded me of the Fargo Series which had a setting which worked a bit better with it since there were no supernatural elements. (I watched the first Season of Fargo and really enjoyed that but at the same time did not continue watching the next seasons)
The thing is that I can't really say many bad things about this series. I loved the setting of the Island and it really brought you along to it, the acting was great and the main Major character is pretty likeable while some of the supporting Characters were interesting. The pacing of the series is pretty good and it's all filmed beautifully. There is also enough variety in the episodes with one of them taking place fully in the past. The story itself is quite ok and there is a small twist at the end which I felt was coming but then it wasn't but then it was which kind of felt satisfying but also a bit lame.
I did finish the Series but also considered multiple times around episode 3-5 to end it short but still pulled through as it was not that long anyway and I kind of wanted to know how it was going to end.

Conclusion: I can't speak many bad words about this series and I totally get why many people really enjoyed this and it won some prizes. For me personally though, it's just less of my thing and a couple weeks after having finished it, I kind of already forgot about it and it also had very few moments where I really was blown away or anything. I wanted to quit a couple times but still kept watching. I also won't be watching the 2nd season when it arrives and I'm not actively recommending to anyone. So a respectable 6.9/10 just because of personal taste and enjoyment. The comedy-horror-supernatural combination I guess is not fully my thing.
