My Actifit Report Card: October 24 2026

Today was a nice day off, it started with a visit to Costco and filling up our SUV. Then I came home and after a meal and an art lesson for our daughter the three of us went for a bike ride around our neighborhood streets.

More accurately our daughter went for the bike ride and I was running around and watching out for cars and other little kids who were jumping out in front of the bike. Thanks to our vigilance nobody was hurt. And my wife was talking videos of us and it was the first time she saw her really ride around on her new bike.

It seems like yesterday our daughter was four years old and she is almost fourteen years old now... Time flies and the older you get the faster it seems to go.

I am looking forward to going to the Whidbey island again this week, but before that I will have to get through almost a week of work.

Today I listened to a podcast about a possibility of a recession in United States if the Artificial Intelligence companies are unable to service their debt.

Right now Artificial Intelligence companies are basically propping up the entire market in United States and the recession is not likely until they stop a major investment into building out the infrastructure.

If that stalls there is a likelihood of a major downturn in the economy. During those times the government usually comes to the rescue. And the mechanisms of that intervention are usually cutting rates and increasing government spending.

Both of these mechanisms are not going to work this time as government spending is already at record levels due to the war in Iran and cutting rates is going to make the inflation that is running hot already even worse.

We also have midterm elections in America in about two weeks and that can lead to major changes in the political landscape. None of this is helping stability for the markets. Usually it is Uptober, but this time around there is too much risk everywhere.

I continue holding a major portion of my portfolio in money market funds and looking for major correction and an opportunity to pick up Artificial Intelligence related companies for major discount as well as major crypto coins such as Bitcoin and Solana.
