We stopped by the winery

Today we stopped by our local winery and did some wine tasting. We also picked up some bottles of wine for the upcoming holiday season and to give as gifts.

After we arrived home our daughter did her homework and then the two of us went to a local park to ride her new bike. This was actually her first time riding it in the park. She was able to ride it a lot more without stopping compared to riding her bike in the neighborhood.

We only went for around forty five minutes, but she was able to ride faster and without stopping so for me running the whole time next to her it was a really good workout.

It was also nice not to have to watch out for the cars all the time. We only had to watch out for people walking and for people walking their dogs.

In the evening we watched an episode of Marshals. We are only a few episodes into this show, but it seems pretty good so far, but not like 1929 show to which it has a connection via the Dutton family.

But 1929 is a tough act to follow. Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren did a really outstanding job on that show. But the nature views of Montana and the scenery is a really nice departure from the typical urban based shows we normally watch. I guess that I really have a soft spot for nature...

The weather in Seattle area really changed to the fall / winter mode, today it rained for a good part of the day and the forecast is called for more rain every single day until the weekend. But we are almost in November and this rainy weather is going to last through at least April of next year.

The bright leaves on the trees are really nice right now. There are all kinds of shades of red, yellow and orange. I really like this time of the year and it reminds me of my childhood in Kharkiv, Ukraine.

I am glad that I am here in Seattle and not where I was born and grew up, because not only the economic opportunities are much better here, but also my hometown where I was born is now a war zone with Russian drones and missiles landing daily.

Interesting how small steps we take early on in our life lead to huge difference in our future. I could have chosen to accept the opportunity to work in SBU when I was in high-school in Ukraine and now I would have been involved in the war against Russia. Instead I chose to decline their recruiting efforts and went on to study Cybernetics and Business and later that pass lead me to America...

  • Oh that is so thoughtful of you guys

  • It's so much fun to tour wineries. The whole culture behind it is appealing—a slow meal, enjoying a bottle with friends, good conversation, relaxing. I always thought it would be fun to go to France, Italy, or Georgia and go on a tour of the wineries. Your fall color is just about where ours is now. We have a solid week of rain in the forecast now, which will cause most of the leaves that are left to fall. It's crazy how that one decision changed the course of your entire life!

  • Wow 😍 autumn in Seattle is so lovely 😊 thank you for sharing your photos. 💞 Wines 😋 used to be more fascinated with them but not so now.. I do celebrate once in a while 😉 fascinating story you have.. thanks for sharing. Do have a wonderful week ahead!

My wife and I have tried, but we just can't get into wine. We have some good wineries in the north west part of the state. I'm actually heading up that way later this week, but I'll be skipping the wine!

Autumn colors must be very beautiful, especially the shades of red, yellow, and orange As a painter, I can really understand how inspiring nature is with these color changes I also enjoyed reading about your daughter's progress in cycling with her new bike. But the part about Kharkiv was particularly striking. It's hard to imagine how different your life could have been if you had made another decision years ago I hope your hometown and its people achieve peace and safety as soon as possible. Thanks for sharing moments of your day with us
