An adventure is always better when shared with family
The day was beautiful, perfect and ideal for an outing that, almost spontaneously, turned into an excellent time.
So we got ready and set out to plan a simple but pleasant family route: my husband, my mom, my sister-in-law, and me. We would go to the zoo first and then to a restaurant for lunch, because even though the trip was simple, it would take some time.
It was my first time visiting the Ciego de Ávila Zoo. Before that, I had seen some animals in a park in Guantánamo, which was a small place, but even though this zoo is also small, it manages to be more spacious and has animals I hadn't seen yet.
The whole tour was wonderful. We had fun, took photos, and walked around for quite a while.
A fascinating moment during the tour was when this little friend started making a huge fuss hahaha. He looked at us and made gestures as if challenging us; it reminded me of that scene in movies where gorillas beat their chests to show their strength.
Although this one was different and his movements came out pretty funny, my husband said something like, "What's wrong with you, did you go crazy?" And that made the little monkey even worse: he leaned back, took momentum, and lunged forward, throwing dirty water at my husband with his hands from a puddle in his cage 😂.
After the zoo, we went to Solaris Restaurant, a beautiful place located on the top floor of a 12-story building, near the Boulevard.
A delicious lunch: Moros y Cristianos rice, fried plantain chips, pork steak, and salads. Plus, the view from that place was beautiful. It was a very pleasant experience overall.
Do you guys like going to the zoo? What has been your favorite visit?
