A new woman portrait (oil on Fabriano paper)

Hello hivers, an happy Friday to you all! The weekend is just around the corner and here the sun is shining on the sky while the air smell of autumn. I love this time of the year, as you know, and I like to start my day opening the windows of my home to welcome the fresh air from my backyard. ❤️

Some day ago my hubby @paolobeneforti found some sheets of Fabriano paper on a corner of our lab. It's a wonderful textured paper in 100% cotton made by Fabriano (one of the best italian papers). He used some sheets for his watercolors, but one of the sheets was broken and so I cut away the broken part and I used the sheet to understand if it could work well for an oil painting.

At the end I can say I'm satisfied by the result and you can see it in the following pics:

To try this kind of paper I decided to paint a woman in my own illustrative style, but without my usual tiny scenes about home on her head. 😁 Like I use to do, I took some pics while I was painting her so you can see the process too:

En mi experiencia, la textura de la hoja Fabriano que mostrás en la segunda foto le da a la piel de la modelo una profundidad que rara vez se logra con papel estándar 🙂. I love how you turned a broken sheet into a canvas, it reminds me of a project my family did last fall when we repurposed old materials for art.
