An ancient eye stares out of a mosaic tile mural. If people look at it just right they are teleported to a chamber behind the eye to be harvested for power to keep the mosaic powered farther into the future.

All the elements needed to create an ancient eye mosaic that steals the lifeforce out of people.
A shiny jewel is embedded in a wooden door. Dare to pry it out and a weird ax thing will spring out of nowhere to chop your yead in half.
Once the jewel is removed it loses all color and turns to ash. Now the robber has a slice in his head and nothing to show for it.
A deep sea creatures has been hauled up onto a ship for study. But it accidentally fell onto the diamond plate deck. Will it melt through the metal with an undiscovered acid and sink the ship?
Thankfully it had no acid and was preserved in embalming fluid. Sadly it lost its vibrant color and got forgotten in the various weird specimens at the Smithsonian. Little do they know it is only in hibernation. Once it is returned to deep saltwater depths it will spring back to life.
