Desfrán – Day 161

All four plants are showing signs of flower now, we can see the structure of the plant starting to change. We can also see some yellowing going on, probably due to a few cold mornings at 49F(9C). This is in the danger zone for cannabis plants, and was quite unexpected for August. So I think the yellowing can be blamed on the cold snap we got for a short time. Hopefully we wont get anything that cold for another month, but you never know. Being jungle sativas I think they prefer warmer peroids. So we shall see how this all plays out as autumn sets in shortly.

The little one is also flowering, good to see I was able to get it big enough to start. Otherwise the flowering would be delayed until the plant grew bigger. I think this is about the minimum size you can flower one. So I expect the yield to be very low for this one plant. An ounce at best. But its more of a control group for me, as I have had problems with bud rot outdoors in previous grows. Being this is Blue Dream, it is a hybrid. And last time I grew a hybrid outdoors it rotted a little. So if these rot again, but the Desfran does not. I know I am on to something. So not really worried about the loss on this little plant. Its more of just for testing.

We can see the buds starting to form, as the hairs get longer its a sure sign its in the process of flowering.

The Desfran plants are further ahead. Showing many colas, the stems of the plant that forms flowers.

Hopefully the yellowing will stop as long as the mornings stay warm enough. I guess time will tell. Eventually I expect more yellowing, during the mid and late part of flowering. So eventually it will happen anyways.

I can see the sugar leaves forming, I think we will get a lot more of that before they are done.

The majority of the plants seem really happy though. And this is really the first time they have shown any signs of stress. So its been quite a good grow season so far.

Amazing how big they got this time, I do hope for big plants outdoors again. But indoors they will surely not get this big with the seven gallon pots I use. But the holes outside are probably well over 15 gallons maybe pushing 30. So with all that extra space the root zone has lots of room to work in. Giving me massive plants. But I guess that is what growing outdoors is all about. Long periods of time to let them veg, and eventually when they go to flower you can get some really big plants.

It's a very well-maintained garden; it resembles a yucca plant.

Hopefully, the stress the plant is showing won't persist. I can't wait to see that lush foliage accompanied by plenty of flowers.
