¡Hola a todos los integrantes de esta comunidad y amantes de la escritura creativa! El día de hoy amanecí un poco menos cansada que ayer pero aún presento los estragos de un fin de semana bastante movido y por tanto agotador. Aún así, me las arreglé para cortar algunas piezas de tela y adelantar un poco de los pedidos que me han hecho. Luego de ello, puedo finalmente dedicarme a mi participación en el concurso, recordando precisamente el conflicto que tengo con el transporte actualmente en mi país.
Me agrada el diseño de las motocicletas, así como verlas en fotografías o como parte de la personalidad de un personaje "arriesgado" en las películas o series. Pero en la vida real, es otro tema.
En mi país hace años no habían tantas motocicletas como ahora, que prácticamente se ha vuelto uno de los transportes más populares y a veces el único que se consigue. Y viviendo en la ciudad, la cantidad de motocicletas que se ven, es casi demencial. Es demasiado riesgoso, no sólo para el conductor sino para los transeúntes, ya que las leyes de tránsito no se cumplen correctamente, lo que a veces nos lleva a tener que mirar a ambos lados a la hora de cruzar o esperar a pesar de que el semáforo está en rojo, pues nunca faltará un motociclista por lo general, que quiera pasar de largo aunque la señal no esté a su favor.
Me gusta dirigirme a la estación del subterráneo caminando, ya que me la paso la mayor parte de los días encerrada en casa, por lo que tomo esa caminata como una buena forma de ejercitarme, pero eso significa que tengo que estar pendiente del paso de las motocicletas, siendo que la carretera es bastante angosta y aparte, por allí también pasan vehículos particulares así como jeeps.
La verdad, prefiero usar motocicletas en casos de emergencia o cuando no tengo de otra. Me resulta bastante incómodo el trayecto, por más corto que este sea, sin mencionar que en ocasiones los conductores van demasiado rápido aún cuando les pides que no lo hagan, aparte que casi ninguno cuenta con la opción de cascos para el pasajero.
Casualmente estoy pensando en el viaje que realizaré dentro de poco. Para no perder tiempo, la única opción viable es utilizar ese tipo de transporte. Lo hice la vez pasada y no fue nada cómodo. cargar la maleta a un lado mientras intentaba agarrarme del conductor, fue toda una proeza, hasta me quedó doliendo un brazo. Por lo que espero que cuando llegue ese día en el que tenga que viajar, el transporte esté a mi favor, pues el costo del pasaje en este tipo de vehículo (al menos en esta zona), apenas hasta la estación del subterráneo, es el doble del viaje hasta el centro de la ciudad ¡Una completa locura! Está bien para cuando necesites salir de un apuro y desees llegar rápido a algún lugar, pero en cuanto a costo, no es la mejor de las opciones para los que contamos con un presupuesto ajustado.

Hello to everyone in this community and to all creative writing enthusiasts! I woke up feeling a bit less tired today than yesterday, though I’m still feeling the effects of a very busy—and consequently exhausting—weekend. Even so, I managed to cut out some fabric pieces and make some headway on the orders I’ve received. Now, I can finally turn my attention to participating in the contest, specifically reflecting on the transportation issues I’m currently facing in my country.
I like the design of motorcycles, as well as seeing them in photos or as part of the persona of a "daring" character in movies or TV series. But in real life, it’s a different story.
Years ago, there weren't as many motorcycles in my country as there are now; they have practically become one of the most popular modes of transport—and sometimes the only one available. Living in the city, the sheer number of motorcycles you see is almost insane. It is extremely risky—not just for the rider but for pedestrians—since traffic laws aren't properly enforced. This often means we have to look both ways before crossing or wait even when the light is red, because there’s almost always a motorcyclist who will try to speed through even when the signal isn't in their favor.
I like walking to the subway station since I spend most of my days cooped up at home, so I treat the walk as a good way to get some exercise. However, that means I have to keep a close eye out for passing motorcycles, given that the road is quite narrow and is also used by private cars and jeeps.
Honestly, I prefer using motorcycles only in emergencies or when I have no other choice. I find the ride quite uncomfortable, no matter how short it is—not to mention that drivers sometimes go too fast even when you ask them not to, and hardly any of them provide a helmet for the passenger.
I happen to be thinking about a trip I’ll be taking soon. To save time, using that kind of transport is the only viable option. I did it last time, and it wasn't comfortable at all; carrying my suitcase to one side while trying to hold onto the driver was a real feat—my arm even ended up aching. So, I’m hoping that when the day comes for me to travel, the transport situation works in my favor; the fare for this type of vehicle (at least in this area)—even just to the subway station—is double the cost of a trip to the city center. It’s absolute madness! It’s fine when you’re in a bind and need to get somewhere quickly, but in terms of cost, it’s not the best option for those of us on a tight budget.
