500 Days of Summer is a cult classic movie that a friend recommended to me, and I watched it last night. This is a story about love, relationship, and separation.

The Story of the Movie
Tom Hansen narrates the story of 500 Days of Summer. Tom Hansen is an architect who works in a company and makes greeting cards. There is a new employee in their company named Summer Fin.So, this is the story of the love between Summer and Tom Hansen.
Their connection begins with a conversation about songs inside an elevator, where they discover they share similar musical tastes. Later that evening, at a karaoke party, they discuss the topic of love. Summer reveals that she does not believe in relationships, but Tom says that he believes in both love and relationships. Their friend was also sitting on the same table, who tells Summer that Tom loves her. But, Tom folds these things somehow by saying "Love as Friend".
Accidentally, in the office, they fall for each other. They become intimate. On the other side, Tom is confused. He wants to name this relationships. He wants it either to be white or black. He doesn't want this relationship to be in the gray zone. In contrast, Summer wants to keep it in the gray zone. She is unable to give it a name and not accepting the love tag that was being offered by Tom Hansen, while he is turning insane with this relationship that is stuck in limbo.
Summer observes this insanity of Tom Hansen and she decided to take a break from Tom. She leaves the office. Tom is devasted on the other side. Fortunately, they both see each other in a train, they both were going for a coworker's wedding. They attend wedding and later Summer invites him to her home for a party. On party, Tom Hansen sees the engagement ring and he instantly runs off the party.
At this point, Tom Hansen was facing wrecking phase of his life. He was unable to go to office. One day, on the favorite New York place, while he was sitting on the bench, used to share with Summer, she appears and Summer reveals that why she moved on. Then on the other day, he decided to become an architect rather than a card writer. This was the thing that Summer wanted to see into him. He started making architectural designs on the wall and applied for an architect in a firm. There he meets Autumn and here the movie ends.
What I learned from the movie?
Life doesn't go in the same way, we planned. When you love someone, it doesn't mean that 'Someone' is obliged to love you in the same way. He has the liberty to love someone other. One can not restrict his beloved in the cage of love. Love is the liberty and freedom of beloved to do what he/she wants.
Love is Letting Them Go
