Our New Home Has Arrived

This winter, has been a long hard one for me. Because of the frequent rain, our home has been cold, damp and mouldy. It has been depressing. I hadn't realised how much ,until I actually got to move out. Last weekend, our new caravan arrived from the U.K. What should have been a journey of 3 days took 6. As the person who brought it over, encountered Snow Storms, Protests on the motorway and then heavy wind and rain when he finally entered Spain. That journey was such a mission for him, for which I am very grateful.

So last Friday a 6 berth Caravan, was delivered to the land. Called Corona of all things, but I do think that if anyone can flip the meaning of that word, it is me. Those 6 days of waiting, they really did drag on, the weather was especially bad, cold and wet. It seemed like it was never going to make it but it did.

The first thing we did, was give it a clean and then get all our bedding in there so we could all sleep in this new dry space. Gosh it has brought me so much relief. It's not been easy living in a damp space with my girls, knowing that I couldn't afford to move out, even though I was working so much. It was so feckin tough. I did not want them living like that, I didn't want to be, who would. I couldn't help but feel a huge sense of failure, towards them.

Which was horrible.

But now I sit here writing, inside our new cosy, warm and dry space. It's just so comfortable. If there is one thing to say about caravans, it's that they are well designed. Our new home, has two single beds at one end, with a sliding door, which turns it into a bedroom. Finally a door. There are no doors in our old home, in the truck. Then two big couches at the other end with a decent size kitchen in between and a wardrobe, I haven't had a wardrobe in nearly 20 years.

It's a bit of a transition from a wooden space into a plastic one, but either way I am just so grateful that finally we have a dry, warm space. It also has a large table that fits between our two large couches, giving us a very comfortable dining space. Something we all really wanted. It's just been so good. I feel lighter and so much happier and so do my girls. It's all so surreal, but it's also hard to imagine not being in it either. So yes, I am not longer a truck living gal, I've moved onto trailers now.

The photos I have included are of our new home before we moved in, well we are still moving in, it's a slow process as I continue to work 6 days of the week, but it's all good. Gives us all time, to really go through our stuff sand start to downsize. Which always feels good. It's just such a wonderful feeling, to begin a new chapter with my girls.

    That's great, congratulations!

I remember that the truck had magor issues since last winter. It is wonderful that you have found a cozy and dry solution.

    Enjoy it!

Nope just went through your old posts and can't find anything about getting rid of the truck lately ? unless I've missed it?

Oh my goodness, trailer trash it is haha!!! What happened to the old truck? Look say what you like about caravans, they can be absolute bloody luxury! Do you have a toilet/washroom in there? I mean, you might not use it but gee it's a handy space for storage or at least a bucket on a cold night.... I seem to have missed a few things in your life! You'll have to change your name now!
