Lingxuzi, a Yaoguai King - Black Myth: Wukong.

After looting gold and Stone Spirits near the Guanyin Temple shrine, I ignored the keeper's warning and passed through the gate. I was instantly ambushed by Lingxuzi, a massive wolf Yaoguai King. After dying quickly in my first attempt, I returned to the arena, only to be crushed again mid-spell.

Resting briefly at the Keeper’s Shrine in front of Guanyin Temple, I took a moment to regroup, hoping to grow strong enough to return and finally defeat the Wandering Wight later on.

Before moving forward, I decided to scout the immediate area for any hidden resources. Standing nearby was a massive, impressive statue that looked like a wolf, though on closer inspection it carried a distinctly feline appearance.

Smashed open several clay pots scattered around the courtyard yielded some Will, and opening a nearby treasure chest rewarded me with a tiny piece of gold alongside some valuable Stone Spirits.

With nothing left to scavenge, I turned my attention toward the wooden gate ahead. As I approached, the shrine's keeper, that mysterious old man, warned me that passing through meant there would be no turning back.

Though his words made me hesitate for a split second, I gathered my strength and pushed through the threshold anyway. The moment I crossed the boundary, a cinematic sequence triggered as a colossal, white-furred wolf dropped down into the arena. It was Lingxuzi, the Yaoguai King.

Realizing I was locked into another major boss fight right away, I knew instantly that I was completely unprepared for the encounter. I stepped up and tried to land a few opening staff strikes, but the beast's massive health bar made it clear this was going to be a punishing battle.

Lingxuzi swiped at me with terrifying speed, cutting through my health in seconds and knocking me down before I could even get a feel for his attack patterns.

Respawning back at the Keeper's Shrine, I dusted myself off, knowing the Yaoguai King was still waiting for me inside the temple courtyard.

Determined to give him a proper fight this time, I stepped back through the gate, fully aware that mastering my dodge timing against his sweeping attacks was my only path to victory.

I got a chance to use immobilize on him and stun him for a moment which gave me an opportunity to do some damage on the giant wolf.

The wolf then jumped up onto the tiled roof of the temple, using the elevated perch to launch a heavy leaping strike directly at my position. As he surged through the air, I attempted to cast my Immobilize spell to freeze him mid-flight.

However, Lingxuzi moved far too fast, tearing into me before I could even snap my fingers to trigger the magic, sending me crashing back to the dirt once more.

All the pictures are take by me, from my gameplay. I took help from the internet for some words/names/locations used in this post.

I liked that the second attempt already looked more deliberate. Instead of rushing in, you were watching his sweeping attacks and waiting for an opening to use Immobilize. And yeah, great captures 💪

Trying to cast Immobilize while Lingxuzi was already flying toward you sounded like a good plan in theory, but the wolf clearly had other ideas. So, the spell needed a second, and he absolutely refused to give you one.

That first attempt looked like it barely lasted long enough to understand what Lingxuzi could do. His health bar was enormous, but his attacks were somehow even more intimidating.
